Abita Seersucker® Summer Pils is crisp and cool like its namesake. A traditional pilsner, this brew has a full bodied malt flavor and hop bitterness with a light golden color. It is made with Pilsner and Carapils malts and hopped with German Tradition and German Spalt hops.

WHY?? I ask myself, Why do I keep trying stuff from this brewery? Guess it is because I find them on the singles rack and hope that one day I will find something good. Today was not that day. Another rancid foul tasting brew that is just all wrong. Still wondering how this brewery can keep missing it. Think it might be the water because surely the malts and hops are not giving it that bad taste. Well unless they are using molded malts and hops, but who would be so dumb to do that. Got half way through this and poured the rest out. Just couldn’t finish it.

appearance: clear light yellow, short and fizzy white head, light lacing. aroma: lemongrass, white toast, cracked pepper. taste: grainy and crackery, with a bit of honeyed sweetness and a good dose of grassy, fresh-feeling and peppery hops. finish: clean and crisp, nice bright feeling lingers. notes: A very pleasant surprise. Wonderful pils. Draught at the brewpub, New Orleans trip 2016.

Poured from the tap into a pint glass at Taco Mac in Smyrna, GA. The appearance is a clear gold color with a small white head. The aroma is hops and citrus. The taste follows the nose. a real good pilsner.

It’s like every other Abita beer, underwhelming. Just a very light beer with minimal flavors. Probably good in 100% humidity, 100 degree weather. Other than that, pass.

Sample 7/19/14 (Naperville Ale Fest)-Pours a light golden with a small white ring for a head. Aroma of bread, biscuit, hops, and grass. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew is one of the better Pilsener beers or maybe just cause it was a hot day.

Yeah, it had an aroma, hay, floral, a hint of banana. Cloudy yellow pour, big frothy head, nice lacing. Flavor has some fruity sweetness, mildly bitter finish. Texture was rather thin and watery. If someone asked me to recommend a pilsner, I’d probably recommend Abita Seersucker, it’s better than Miller Lite, and Pilsner-Urquell. Definitely a summer beer. Definitely not my style of beer.
