The latest Abita "Select" as of this writing. On tap at the Abita Brew Pub in Abita Springs. A deep amber color with a fairly large off-white head with good persistence and moderately thick lacing. Nose is rich with bready malt aroma. Taste is rich, sweet, and distinctly malty. The commercial description mentions "hop balance". Well, if by balance they mean a malt monster with little hint of hop, then it’s accurate. Rich and flavorful, but I detected very little, if any, hop. Mouthfeel is creamy and rich. Finish is sweet and is combined with lingering creamy sensations on the tongue.

Clear copper color/ tan head. Nutty, caramel, malty aromas. medium bodied. Decent flavors of roasted nuts, sweet spicy caramel. nicely bitter finish. @ Abita pub.
