COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mayhawk is a Louisiana take on a Belgian Golden Strong Ale. Brewed with the finest Pilsner and Wheat malts, Noble Hops and large amounts of candy sugar. A traditional Belgian yeast strain provides a bright blend of subtle fruit and spicy notes. These fruity notes are enhanced by the addition of Louisiana Mayhaw Berries which leaves a slightly tart finish and subtle haziness. This ale has a medium body, moderate hop bitterness and a mild alcohol warmth with an effervescent palate. A sipping beer to savor.

9/20/2013: Blue Moon Proximity... Pale straw color with quite a bit of off-white foam on top. Smells a lot like a white wine (Reisling, actually). The flavor is mostly semi-sweet Reisling with just a slight musty wheatiness hiding underneath. There is a pretty high level of carbonation, so this beer feels light and airy on the palate, not unlike Champagne. Truth be told, the alcohol level is really well-hidden. Overall, this beer isn’t bad, but it’s clearly more wine than beer since the fruitiness and flavor of the white grapes dominate. Furthermore, this beer is truly way too expensive for what it is. For a truly excellent blend of beer and wine, try Dogfish Head Sixty-One! Draught sample(s) at Party Town in Florence, KY. Rating #53 for this beer.

On tap at Beerfoot ... Pours a medium gold ... Mild Belgian yeast, overripe banana skin, and stupid juice... Pretty good but nothing I’d want a pint of .. . . At the beach, no dogs allowed..

Comes across more like a fruit-infused wheat beer than anything Belgian. Banana and orange aroma. Taste is sweet and wheat along with the fruit.

(Draught) Pours a murky golden-orange body with a medium white head. Aroma of orange juice, yeast, and grass. Flavor of orange juice, Belgian yeast, some banana, and wheat. Think of of a standard witbier with half of a juicy orange squeezed into it.

On tap at the Londoner in Frisco. Golden with a white head. The aroma and flavor are full of biscuit, wheat and orange citrus. The orange notes are very juicy and are complimented by a good bit of alcohol. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Draught
Pours a hazy yellow color with a good head and nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is very spicy & sort of sweet with plenty of fruitiness, and pleasant soapy character.... uhhh, I don’t know it smells pretty good, but it doesn’t sound like it smells very good.

The flavor is entirely sweet and more banana forward than I ever usually like. There are some spicy and fruity bits, plenty of orange flavor throughout.
