Tap at Happy Gnome. Hazy yellow pour with a frothy white head. Lots of banana and bubblegum on the aroma. Fairly sweet flavor. Flavorful and easy drinking. One of the better Abita brews I’ve had.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a hazy golden yellow on tap with no real head or lacing to speak of. Smells and tastes of a typical german weiss, wheat and esters. Nothing too special.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a small frothy off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is yeast, clove, and banana. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt with clove and nice spice in the finish. Easy to drink a decent speciality grain from Abita.

2/12/13. On tap at Dahlia’s. Hazy golden/cloudy yellow pour with a nice off-white head that fades. Big hefe aromas - lots of banana, phenolics, bubblegum, sweetness, cream, etc., with just a touch of spiciness and bread. Sweet, malty flavor with plenty of that hefe yeast aspect again and just a touch of rye in there. Eh.

Stopped at the Stagshead to get lubricated prior to winter blizzard. This being mardi GRAS times Anita was featured heavily on menu. This pours very hazy almost muddy brownish blonde. Nose is of light citrus and grains. Tastes of grains, malt, bananas, bubblegum, lots of wheat and rye.

On tap at the Untapped Festival.
Hazy amber in color. The aroma has some wheat and rye notes, but what really comes through is the clove character. The flavor is similar. I get some rye and clove notes, as well as the addition of some banana. The yeast really adds some nice flavors to this beer. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Likely the best Abita beer I have tried.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I’ve had this multiple times on draught, it’s quite good.
The beer pours a very hazy blonde with a respectable head that fades to a smallish head.
The aroma is rich and bready with a big of bubblegum and banana.
The flavor is lightly bitter & robust but with all the classic hefeweizen banana and spice character. The beer is fruity and slightly tart.
Simple & straightforward but interesting and well made.
