Our Triple Haze is a take off of one of our most popular year round offerings, Purple Haze. It is a strong golden lager made with malted barley and wheat. Despite being strong (8% ABV) it is still light in color. It is hopped with German Perle hops to give the beer a delicate hop flavor. After filtering the beer, a generous amount of fresh raspberry puree is added. Because we use real fruit you may see raspberry pulp in the beer. This gives the beer a tartly sweet taste and aroma, as well as a bright purple color and haze.

Pours a watermelon orange with no head or lacing. Strawberries and other sweet citrus on the nose. Berries, lemon, honey. Medium bodied, crisp. An odd, drinkable lager.

Has a raspberry aroma and flavor with a very slight bitter long finish. A very tasty fruit beer that I enjoyed.

Draft to taster at Dutch’s. Looks solid; a mostly transparent golden orange with foamy white head. Smells of raspberries and lager yeast with a bit of sweetness. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Not bad, and drinks easier than an 8% beer.

On tap at Dutch’s. Clear orange amber red color. Thin off-white head, dots of lace. Medium-plus body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly dry. Lighter, and more drinkable than you’d expect for an 8% beer. Light tart taste, light bite to it. Good bright refreshing mild raspberry flavor, and some bready malt. Cool strong fruit lager to try for the summer.

pours a rose pink - looks much like grapefruit juice with frothy white head. Aroma is fresh raspberries very fresh with mild notes of sugar. Flavor is fresh raspberry, nutty almond and just a hint of tart lemon to off set. Body is light and lceansing with active carbonation to make it light on the mouth.

Draft sample at the 2nd Annual Top of the Hops Charlottesville, VA beer festival, 9/10/11. Pours a hazy pink-orange color with a thin head. Poor head retention. Aroma of banana, berries, bread and a phenolic finish. The taste is citrus, berries and a sugary finish. Medium bodied. A bit too sweet.

Location: Draft at Capital Ale, 9/9/11

Aroma: The nose is fairly sweet, raspberries, grains, yeast, and floral hops.
Appearance: Pours a reddish, amber, and slightly purple color with a small head.
Flavor: The taste is rather sweet, lots of raspberry, some light malt, and light bitterness.
Palate: The body is medium, fairly fizzy mouthfeel, and a light booziness.
Overall Impression: This one is rather similar to the Purple Haze, I don’t mean that in a bad way, but you can see and taste the obvious resemblance. It is definitely a sweeter offering then what I tend to enjoy, but I found the sweetness working pretty well in this one. I like what they did here.
