3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DrSilverworm (2701) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 16, 2013
12oz bottle, from Party Source. Best by 7/19/13. Mostly clear yellow orange color. Decent thin white head, leaves little loose dots of lace. Medium body. Kind of soft, sort of smooth mild to moderate strength carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Some orange citrus, lightly spicy hops. More biscuity malt. Light bitter taste, some more zesty sweetness. Lightly soapy taste. An OK IPA... Not as quaffable as it should be, for me... I haven’t had the Jockomo in 2 years, but I remember it as being much more drinkable than this

Very light ipa. Grassy hoppy light flavor. Bubbly with a medium nose. Not my favorite abita but good for a seasonal.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Giannone, 5/1/13
Aroma: Has a big citrus nose (grapefruit, orange, pineapple), with some floral and grass notes
Appearance: It pours a cloudy orange color with a frothy off-white head and heavy lacing
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with plenty of fruity flavors like the nose
Palate: The body is medium, average carbonation, a bit sticky and a little oily, with a dryish finish
Overall Impression:
I was actually really impressed by this one. It gives a really nice first impression with a big citrus hop aroma. The taste is pretty good, though not quite up to the level of the nose. Still though, this one turned out to be a really solid beer, and it far exceeded my expectations.

Bottle at home. "West Coast" aroma of juicy grapefruit, orange, pine. Medium bodied, with a fresh, almost wet hop flavor. Loads of citrus and pine, with a sticky, bitter, fruity finish that lasts forever. Lots of flavor, but never overbearing. An exceptional, fresh, light, springy IPA.

12oz bottle pours with a slight hazed gold body with copper hues and supporting a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up citrus and pine hoppy goodness grounded in sweet maltiness. The taste has pleasing grapefruit and tangelo like citrusy hops that are sweetened up nicely with malts but they still seem to maintain a hoppy bitter bite with a pine to almost floral hop bitterness. OK, very nice IPA and my new favorite from Abita, by a wide margin too. My second favorite scores a 3.5. I’d be happy to try this again.

This may be the best Abita beer I’ve had. The hops are intense up front but with enough floral notes to be quite tasty. Also a good crispness to the finish. Excellent.

This one poured a lighter orange color with an off white head. Aroma was mild citrusy hops, and light pale malt. Flavor was similiar, medium bitterness, nothing offensive but nothing really inviting either.

Pours bright gold with a white head. Smells of orange and taffy. Tastes like orange, grapefruit, spice and cream with a grassy citrus hoppiness running throughout. Medium-light body with a fair amount of carbonation. Refreshing and bright, good for the warming spring weather.
