COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Spring IPA (March-May) is a West Coast-style IPA with an up-front intense hop flavor and aroma. Amarillo and Centennial hops give the brew a rich and resinous flavor of citrus and spice. This bright pale ale has a malt sweetness that will give way to a pleasant bitter. It pairs well with Mexican or spicy Szechwan Chinese food. Spring IPA is a nice accompaniment for cheeses with strong flavors, like sharp cheddar or goat cheese.

Somewhat hazy golden yellow pour. Medium white head. Good lacing. West coast style hop aroma. Piney, citrusy, and some dank earthiness. Not much malt aroma. Flavor mirrors the hop aromas. Starts bright and crisp. Pretty dank in the middle and finishes bitter. ---Rated via iPhone

Poured a clear golden/orange. Aroma was nothing but malt bomb. Flavor followed the nose. This was labeled as fresh through June I believe. Is it supposed to be a malt bomb? Drank this thinking it was going to be a crisp and citrusy IPA, but was very disappointed. Light body with a thin texture. Carbonation was fizzy. Little bitter to end. Couldn’t drink it all though.

12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. Clean crisp and refreshing. Lacks any distinct taste.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate malty and lightly sweetish aroma, light caramel and some tropical fruitiness, piney - some grapefruit hoppyness. Body is light to medium, malty and dryish flavor, faint caramel and some tropical fruitiness with piney - herbal hoppyness. Finish is average to long, malty and dryish, light tropical fruitiness with lots of piney - herbal hoppyness. Nice dryish and well hopped light bodied IPA – not too much caramel.

From a bottle...pours orange with a white head. The aroma is butterscotch and grapefruit. It has a medium frothy body with soft carbonation. The flavor starts with metallic notes and an astringent backbone. The finish is a bitter medicinal palate. Not a good effort by a normaly solid brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cottage cheese, lemon zest, dandelion nose, with a hint of butter. Hazy amber, thick head, minimal lacing. Daffodil, dandelion, and lemongrass, floral but light and grassy, not pungent at all. Medium body, easy carbonation, quaffable. Very intriguing take on an IPA. There are usual floral notes, but there are overriding notes of dairy products. It tastes rather like milky flowers. I don’t know how they pulled that off, but it’s pretty neat. Excellent to pair with a fruit and cheese plate. Dang, Abita has been killing it lately with their IPAs.

Really an enjoyable IPA. Pint pour of decent, proper colored goldenrod with an off white head. Nose is loaded with citrus, grapefruit, bright and clean, crisp malts, resin and pine for sure. Flavor is bright citrus and bitter, grapefruit and more resin. Lighter malt notes without being overly pronounced. Lighter-medium body. Drinkable and enjoyable.

Pours clearish golden/orange with a white head. The aroma is powdery and floral with mushy butterscotch and cobwebs. It has a medium frothy body with semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts with metallic notes, medicinal tastes, tin and astringency. The finish is much of the same and pretty offputting.

Bottle - Pours a clear golden with a fairly big head and some lacing. Citrus orange aroma. Taste is light with grassy notes. Finish is a little soapy. OK

A slightly hazy yellow with a vigorous foamy white head. Floral and green leaf aromas along with a nice woody malt component. The floral bitterness develops nicely along with a good balancing honeyed sweetness. There’s a bit of a bite in the taste and it must be somewhat from hops since the ABV is only 6.2%. The body is very light and somewhat watery which along with the nicely astringent bitterness makes this very drinkable. If there is such a thing as a Spring IPA, this is probably it.

Copper pour, nice white head. Aroma is slight pine and citrus, quite a bit of semi sweet toasted malts. Taste is slightly piney hops, a bit floral with caramel malts and a slight sweetness. Mild bitterness, especially for a self described "west coast" ipa. The malts overpower some promising hop flavors. Medium body, average carbonation. Below average ipa, especially when compared to the description. A bit more focus on the hops here would have improved this considerably.
