3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Great aroma... Taste isn't quite as wonderful but it holds up as Abitas best ipa... Loads better than jockamo... Bitterness strong at the tail end...

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Transfer from BA review on 4-21-14-
Poured from bottle into a ping glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed orange amber color with a two finger head of billowy white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading to leave a tons of foamy level lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is big and resinous of a pine hop smell. Along with the pine are other hop aromas of a grapefruit citrus and a grassy nature. Some sweeter tangerine aromas and a bit of a mango smell are there as well, mixing with the rather strong hop (for a brew of only 6.2 % abv.) and a very light cracker smell to produce a crisp and hoppy west coast style aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and hoppy taste, with the bready flavors being of a smooth light malt nature and the hop being initially almost entirely of a pine nature. Some fruit flavors of tangerine and pineapple as well as some caramel sugar are present from the start sweetening the brews taste, but with these fading however as the taste advances. With the fading of the sweet so too comes more hop flavors as well as a transitioning of the bready flavors to that of a more crisp cracker flavor. The hop flavors that join the initial pine flavor are as would have been anticipated from the nose, with tastes of grapefruit and grass both there. While the fruit fades after the initial taste, it makes a slight resurgence at the very end, mixing with the crisp crackery malt and rather grapefruity and piney hop taste to leave a rather sharp resinous flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. A bit of a higher carbonation level as well as a lighter body may have been slightly nicer for the resinous hop flavors of the brew, but even with that said, the feel was still rather decent.
Overall – A rather nice crisp and resinous west coast style IPA at a good price and, with regards to most resinous west coast style IPA’s, it has a very modest abv. Not too bad…

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Classic looking IPA pour, with an amber colored body displaying some haziness. The carbonation was brisk and formed a two finger thick head. The aroma was of some pleasantly floral hops but a little on the lighter side. The hops were of relatively light bitterness, revealing a tart citric taste upon first sip. The beer turned spicy mid palette, and finished with some orange peel flavor. The malt backbone was light, and simple. It was mid summer when I purchased this, because the sales representative in the shop I went too was passing out free themed pint glasses to those that bough any Abita six packs. Next year I will try to grab it when fresher, because this beer is better than what I thought it was going to be.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle while chilling at HV. Aroma is fresh hop resin citrus hop with some caramel malt notes. Light pineapple notes in taste. Good texture. Just enough malt to ensure a decent balance and no hop bomb. Well done.

2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle. Nose of caramel and earth, more than a little dank, with faint orange (peel) and floral character, spice. Hazy orange pour with an off-white head. Taste is relatively dry, faint onion and celery, thin malt with slightly paper hops, dry and perhaps old. Citrus is very light, and the whole is very mild. Light bitterness but it’s still there, touch of earth ad the malt is dull, light grass, very very faint resin.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Woodmans in the Falls. Pours a clear orangey copper with a foamy white head leaving spongey lace. Aroma has sweet fruits, toffee, pine and a touch of skunk. Taste is of sweet caramel, sweetbreads, light citrus, some pine and some resin. Medium bodied. Not much alcohol presence. Finishes fruity caramelly sweet. Decent, east coast malty-sweet IPA. Some hop presence, but that is not the lead in this brew. 13.8.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Moderate malt and hop aromas of bread, roasted, and herbs, Light to moderate soap for the yeast, with notes of wood and papper. Head is average size, creamy, white with thick, slipper lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is slightly hazy yet sparkling light to medium amber. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a lively carbonation. This IPA looks and tastes better than is smells.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
It puts a clear copper/gold with a large white head. This IPA has your classic IPA aroma. It is crisp with sharp resin and herb hops with hints of citrus. The taste is medium to heavy bitterness with a slight sweetness. Light to medium body with a somewhat sticky texture. The finish is considerably bitter and hangs around just a bit. I would look for this in a bar and buy a few at the right price.
