COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Spring IPA (March-May) is a West Coast-style IPA with an up-front intense hop flavor and aroma. Amarillo and Centennial hops give the brew a rich and resinous flavor of citrus and spice. This bright pale ale has a malt sweetness that will give way to a pleasant bitter. It pairs well with Mexican or spicy Szechwan Chinese food. Spring IPA is a nice accompaniment for cheeses with strong flavors, like sharp cheddar or goat cheese.

Strong grapefruit & citrus aroma on a medium golden pour with a large, soft, slightly off white head. A soft & sweet bitterness that’s full of citrus & flavor makes this highly drinkable and delicious! One of the best IPAs I’ve had.

Beer ports clear golden color with a retained egg white head. Aromas of citrus and earth. Taste is enjoyably bitter. Drinkable.

The color is cloudy orangish-yellow. Pours a thin white head Excellent raroma with notes of resin, spruce and citrus. Smooth, ballanced front end and finishes with a medium bitter note.

Hazy golden pour with a thick white head. The nose is quite citrusy with a touch of wheat and some nice fruitiness. There is a little bit of lemon and a touch of wheatiness. Fresh tasting with a little bit of light zestiness and some pithy bitterness. There’s a touch of fruit. Tasty beer - particularly from Abita.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark gold body under a one inch frothy white head that left some sticky lacing. The nose is a little sweet for an IPA, with some caramel, some minimal floral hoppiness, and toastiness. The flavor is rather sweet with some light botanical notes, some minimal hoppiness, lingering caramel and toffee. This could really do with a lot less sweetness. Lighter bodied, yet a little clingy, with soft fizzy carbonation. This one isn’t for me.

Aroma is citrus, fruit and graham crackers/teddy grahams. The flavor is citrus, fruit, malts, a hint of teddy grahams and a mix of hops and slight spice/heat in the finish. A little old, still pretty decent.

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into Spieglau IPA glass, a mostly clear light orange amber colour, some chill haze, with sudsy everlasting white lace, sheets of fine lace. Intense US hoppy aromas and flavours with a strong enough maltbill underneath. Crisp graininess with hint of caramel. I love this Centennial/Amarillo combo: very fruity, grapefruity, black currants, pinecones, high alpha resin. Light-medium body, average carbonation, nice round mouthfeel and just the slightest residual sweetness. Hoppy bitterness and tangy flavour dominate the aftertaste. A very good IPA, I’m glad I bought a six-pack instead of just a single bottle.

pastymc (30) - Niscemi, ITALY - MAY 27, 2015

Bottled. Slightly cloudy gold orange pour. Some citrus and hops. Really pretty good for Abita.
