Commercial Description:
Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as they’re picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

Clear pale yellow color with a frothy short lived head. Aroma is strawberry syrup with some herb/spice. Medium body and smooth. Decent flavor is strawberries with some lightly sweet bready malts, think liquid strawberry shortcake. Has a mild bitterness to finish. Very easy drinking garden beer here, this fruit lager works.

Bottle, 12 oz. Cloudy yellowwith a finger of white head. Aroma and flavor of strawberry and fruitiness. Light bodied with an average amount of carbonation. Short, lightly sweet, and clean finish. Works great as a thirst quencher on a hot summer day. In general, not very complex or interesting.

12 oz. Clear deep golden with a two-finger creamy head that lasts. Aroma is strawberries ’n cream. Flavor is similar but leans more toward the tart strawberry on the front and the creamier flavor towards the finish. Thankfully, not as sweet or artificial-tasting as many of the offerings in this style. Light body is crisp and dry. A little too carbonated for my tastes, but the tart berries and the bubbles give this beer a nice refreshing tingle.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma is very sweet. Smells of strawberries and cream. Poured yellow/gold in color with a medium-sized, creamy, white head that diminished over time. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is very sweet. Tastes of strawberry and corn. Ewww. Light to medium body. Thin, slightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, strawberry finish.

12 oz bottle. Hazy yellow, cloudy, carbonated with little head. Huge strawberry nose. Taste is not as huge as the nose, very carbonated. No hop or malt profile. One is enough.

Pours a cloudy light yellow with a big white head that diminishes leaving a little lacing on the side. Finer carbonation can be seen as well as felt in the tasting. The aroma is pretty much only of strawberry. Flavor is a very well rounded not overpowering strawberry flavor and only a slight watered down malt taste at the start. To me, the flavor of the strawberry is similar to the flavor in the cereal Frankenberry. Overall an interesting beer that isn’t annoyingly overdone in the flavor department. I could see having this again maybe once a year but not any more often.

Pours amber with a white head. Possesses a lot of the fake fruit aroma and taste of their other fruit beers. Crisp finish. Nothing special.

Just the slightest flavor of strawberries; nothing sickeningly sweet such as Leinie’s Berry Weiss. A good sipping beer on the couch with my girlfriend on a Saturday night.
