Commercial Description:
Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as they’re picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

Golden body with a big white soapy head. Nice aroma of strawberry. Surprisingly bitter. Were those strawberries ripe? Throw some cream in there, too. Disappointing, but so are most fruit beers.

not enjoyable- take one can macro lager- throw in some strawberry juice- then drink and repeat. there was some grahamy-ness in there that was nice. It was overwhelming a strawberry flavored malt beverage, and from that perspective, it is a success as a fruit beer to an extent. Not one I would seek out again. My wife liked it.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is deffinatly berry with some vanilla. Flavor is where this goes down hill. Very light and watery all around. I detect almost no berry what so ever. Pretty light effort on this one.

Not too great. Large, frothy, white head. Ever so slight haze to the yellow body. Aroma = grass + strawberry + cream. Tastes like strawberry yogurt with some fizziness.

Medium yellow, slight but persistent head, some precipitate at the bottom of the glass. Aroma of strawberries and some graininess. Lots of grainy pils malt flavors, strawberry is faint on the finish. Touch of sweetness. If the grain notes were cleaner, this could be quite tasty, if not a geek beer.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden with 2-finger off-white head. Nose is strawberry, but not a lot of berry here; the strawberry notes are subdued, and remind me of Lancaster’s strawberry wheat. Also got caro syrupy pale malt, some female foot sweat (don’t ask), and some cheddar cheese in the nose of this. The flavor is pale malty, hopcitric, with a subdued strawberry flavor, plus some defined aged cheese and female sweaty foot/taint notes. The off notes draw this one down in the rating, but don’t make it undrinkable. In fact, I’ll happily save the rest of my sixer for those hot summer days to come.

Bottle. Pours yellow with a white head. Sweet aroma of strawberries and vanilla cake. Light, crisp body. Flavor is like that vanilla cake with the layer of strawberry goo in the middle. Pretty good for a fruit beer. I’d have this again with strawberry shortcake.

Bottle pours a clear yellow body with an average white head that leaves some patchy lace. Aroma of strawberries and sweet malts and the taste follows suit. Light body with crisp carbonation helps drinkability. The strawberries dominate but not at all artificial. Pretty good for what it is.
