Commercial Description:
Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as they’re picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

Slight tart strawberry aroma. Yellow, pale in color. Certainly strawberry flavor but not sweet. More like unsweetened syrup. reminds me of strawberry quick or a milk cereal I once had as a kid. Off lingering finish.

I was a bit skeptical of trying yet another "fruity" beer, but this one wasn’t too bad. It was not overly sweet like most, but managed to blend a subtle strawberry aroma with a great mild taste. Very enjoyable, quite crisp.

Very noticeable strawberry in the nose. Gold color with a somewhat pinkish hue. The head subsided quickly leaving a faint layer of foam. Malty and slightly carbonated mouthfeel. The strawberries reveal themselves early on then last throughout a pleasant soft finish. Reminded me of strawberry ice cream. Seems better than last year.

The aroma has a light lager smell with light but real strawberries. The appearance is yellow with a thin head. The flavor is quite refreshing and fruity like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall it’s OK.

Bottle. Cloudy copper pour w/ lots of carbonation. Strawberry aroma hits you right away. After fruit flavor dissapates, there isn’t much more to this offering.

Pours a slightly clouded gold. Nose is a touch of strawberries over a firm metallic character. Flavor is kind of like a smooth lager with a creamy strawberry presence that is just slight. What ruins it for me is the somewhat harsh aftertaste of metal. Just too much metallic for my liking. Feel is thick with carbonation and fairly standard on the liquid. Overall it is drinkable, yes. Just not so much since there is a lack of firm strawberry and also with the presence of so much metallic.

12 oz. bottle. Light yellow, thin watery pour with little head, but a champagne-like internal carbonation. Jammy sweet strawberry fragrance with little flavor to follow through. Not too sweet, not too much of anything or any flavor, though somewhat rice-y, with a sour finish and pasty aftertaste of stale Juicy Fruit gum that’s been under a table for a few weeks. Overall, a poor representation of a fruit beer with little body or flavor.
