Aromas are of strawberries, albiet kind of a fake strawberry, and the grain from the malt comes through as a shortcake scent. Flavor then comes across as fairly artificial, almost like a Fruit Roll Up or strawberry flavored Special K. It’s not really disgusting or anything, but I’m not sure to what extent I would call this beer. Maybe "Alcoholic Fruit Roll Up" beverage or something like that. Still, it is the first beer I’ve tried with strawberries... NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

The aroma offers white cake, powdered strawberry mix and a hint of toasted malts. The body is ever a bright pale golden color and the head is two fingers thick, firm and quite lasting. The first sip greets you with lightly fruit-kissed grains gives the impression of a sugary breakfast cereal with water, rather than milk, added. It really doesn’t taste like strawberries, but rather just generically fruity. That being said, it’s not bad for what it is was obviously designed to be. It is a lightly fruity lager-pop and I suspect A-B would be proud to brew something like this. Palidor19 (1772), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Bottle. Pours an golden amber body with thin head. Aroma is of sweet ripe strawberries. Flavor is sweet and syrupy. Dominate strawberry flavor, sugary. Too sweet for me to drink too much. Good thing I have a wife who likes sweet beers to split it with. shrubber85 (2886), Wallhalben, Germany
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 7, 2007 Bottle. Strawberry malt aroma (smells like Strawberry Quik(tm) - my childhood favorite). Golden yellow with small head. Strawberry malt flavor. Pretty weak. If you want a fruity, light beer, really would be a good choice. Will probably be a big hit with anyone who likes their Purple Haze.
