Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as they’re picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

Smelled like strawberries, tasted like water. Honestly, it was a very disappointing beer.

13 June 2014, bottle. Pale yellow, clear, some steady bubbles and slight sediment. Nose is almost an artificial strawberry syrup. Thin body and mildly fizzy. Tastes is slight strawberry syrup. That's the only thing alongside a slightly sweet and crisp lager. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pale yellow-gold, white fizzly head in the glass with a definite aroma of burnt strawberries, a toasty taste with a super carbonated feel and very reminiscent of soda. For what it is, I would recommend it, and perhaps to someone that is not a huge fan of the bitterness or sting of boozy or hoppier brews.

From a bottle. Pours almost clear copper with a fizzy white head. Smells like extremely sweet strawberry candy and musky grains. Tastes like musky, watery strawberries. Light body and low carbonation.

Bottle shared. Pours a pale yellow gold with a thin layer of off white head. Aroma of movie theater popcorn and strawberry candies. Taste is basically non-existent. Just carbonated water.

Bottle. Pours clear pale gold with creamy white head. Aroma is movie theater popcorn, strawberries, and heavy sugar. Flavor is bland strawberries, light malts, and faint hops; dry finish. Light/medium body and medium carbonation.

I hate to say it but this beer is... kinda good. I mean, I was expecting this to taste like a Dum Dum sucker but the strawberry is quite subdued. I dunno how much of it is real vs. artificial flavor but whatever it is, it is not over the top and stupid. The base beer seems nice too. It is a cloud golden lager w/ nice bread-like character to it. There is a little bit of strawberry in the aroma and just a touch of sweetness to bring it out when you taste this. This is a light bodied and very drinkable ale finishes w/ a touch of bitterness and light lingering strawberry notes. I am not one hundred percent in love w this or anything but it is much better than I expected.

Stolen from the work: Pours golden with fizzy head. Aroma is strawberry syrup and more syrup. Taste is light lager followed by a fortunately not overly sweet strawberry flavor that unsubtly lingers on. Not bad, but this is just bad beer with extra strawberry.

Pretty good beer from Abita Springs, Louisiana. My first from that state. Strawberry lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
