COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as theyíre picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

I love this beer. No bad aftertaste, sweet, and fresh strawberries added makes this a choice beer for dessert

Simple lager, with strong strawberry aroma. Fairly strong strawberry taste, somewhat artificial tasting although the bottle claimed otherwise.

Pronounced aroma of butter, with a little cream and hay in the background. Slightly cloudy yellow pour with a medium creamy head. Some glass coating and nice rising streams of carbonation. Very sour strawberry taste at first which mellows by the end of the glass to a more sweeter non-strawberry taste. Virtually no finish. Itís a nice drink, but not very beery.

This is one of those "Why" beers. Why did they brew it? Why am I drinking it? Itís tolerable, but nothing that Iíd care to repeat. It has a clear yellow/gold body with active carbonation and a thicj white head. The aroma is vanilla and strawberry candy. Some pale malt is detectable in the flavor, but then the candy surges forward again. Time to brush my teeth.

Not very good... Pours almost transparent, with a milky strawberry "hue"... a nitrous-induced head, teeny ring with no real retention. The nose is spot on for Captain Crunch cereal (with strawberries). The flavor totally loses me... and thereís nothing to really get "lost" in.... Yes, there is a slightly ripened strawberry bite upfront, but this is met in the mid-palate by a terrible corn and grain macro light beer. Feels terribly out of balance. Thereís no substance to the palate... thin and watery, no body to it at all; very reminiscent of seltzer water with strawberry juice. The finish is a processed plastic mess that meets corn again for a terrible aftertaste/effervescence. Not recommended.... honestly, I expected a little better than this from Abita.

Bottled. The body is slightly hazy yellow with a thin white head. The aroma is definite strawberry jelly with some pancakes. Wow, the taste is better than I expected. It is largely sugar cookies with some strawberries in the finish. The body is highly carbonated. As I drink more I get some slight hints of raw potatoes. Decent.

Served from bottle, cold. The aroma was certainly the most appealing aspect of this beer. The flavor was not that enrapturing, it was extremely light with only barely noticeable traces of sweetness. Itís light and crisp. Would make a moderately pleasing beer for sweltering summer days.

Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager 12 oz bottle Moderate pour in a mug Recent brewing, picked 05/07 Poured a straw yellow (ironic!) with a moderate fizzy mostly diminishing white head. Smelt of moderate sweet strawberries and light grain. Taste was upfront moderate sweet strawberry candy (like the strawberry candy with the gooey center and in the strawberry printed shiny wrapper) with some light sour fresh strawberry and faint bitter hops followed by a faint to light bread and strawberry dessert feel, and an awkard grain bitterness on a short finish. Palate was light bodied, watery, fizzy and slightly astringent. Overall, itís a nice strawberry flavor on an average to disappointing beer canvas. Itís very pleasant to me as a strawberry lover, but not the best strawberry beer by far.

12oz bottle pours goledn with a short white head that leaves a little lace. Aromas of strawberry and grain. Flavor is strawberry, some bread and lots of grainy notes. Light body with a crisp palate. This seems a lot like a pilsener that you dumped some strawberry flavor in. Not all that super..

Funky extract/medical strawberry syrup poured into beer aroma. Cloudy pale lager color. Flavor is unique, thankfully not medical. Watery lager flavor with a fairly nice strawberry flavor. A decent mouthfeel, not special. Overall Iíll have another, but it wonít be a regular drink by any stretch. I think I scored this as descent because itís so "different".
