Commercial Description:
Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as they’re picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

Bottle (12oz). Hazy gold pour, average fluffy white head - fairly long-lasting and sticky looking. Smells pretty solid - strawberry and sweetened cream, slightly floral. Tastes similar, strawberry with the seeds, a little harshly bitter, actually. Average body, a touch acidic, the sweetness fades pretty fast, but the bitterness really lingers - too long for my taste.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Jacksonville, FL. Pours a light gold color with a small head. Aroma is nice with strawberries. Taste is rather clean with little or no aftertaste. Some sweetness with the beer. A light clean beer that would be great in the summertime.

Updating this rating, as I had one today

Aroma: Smell is all strawberries
Appearance: Clear yellow
Flavor: Sweet, plus the lager malt characteristics
Palate:Light body, chewy, lots of carbonation
Overall Impression: I remember this being a very fruity beer. Too sweet for my liking, but I could see how someone might enjoy it, if that was there type of beer.
**Updated with additional information, but the rating stayed the same.

light hazy pale yellow, lots of tiny bubbles, quickly receeding white head, miniscule lace. nose: strawberries!!! flavor is mostly strawberries, some odd non-strawberry tartness. very fizzy mouth feel, tart finish. letting the beer sit a bit makes the fizziness less violent in the mouth. it is revealing that my notes say "shame on you abita!". bottle from cornfield.

Bottle. Pours a golden body with an off white head. Very aromatic nose of pressed strawberries and light grain. Lager notes and a reserved strawberry in the background, i was expecting more sweetness. Light zest, pretty good.

Tasted like strawberries, just like the label said. I thought it was much better than the Purple Haze, but still wasn’t a real big fan.

Bottle at Sunset Grill, fall 2008. Fairly true strawberry nose boasts of more fruit than beer, though it dosent seem candyish or cloying and there does seem to be some malt crispness on the end. Not any flaws that I can detect and a pretty high strength of aroma. Shockingly reserved in fruit sweetness, with seemingly most of the sugars fermented out. You even get some light pale malt graininess and a lager yeast crispness on the finish. No wateriness, medium-light bodied with no alcohol or flaws perceivable. How this brewery is so hit or miss is beyond me.
