Commercial Description:
Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as they’re picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

A golden appearance with a white head. The aroma is of course strawberries with some corn notes. The flavor consists of strawberry syrup and some grassy notes as well. Easy drinking and not over powering in the strawberry dept. Overall not bad for some hot weather drinking.

Bottle from Sun Devil in Mesa, AZ. Golden color with a creamy white head. Truly smells like strawberries. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. First rush made me think of homemade strawberry ice cream ( haven’t had that for a number of decades!). Downhill from there, but it’s still a good drink - probably for around the pool - once every other week or so. Brave Abita.

Bottle from a NYC deli. An innocent-looking pale lager, a little fruity aroma - the rest is strawberry syrup. Sticky sweet - you could possibly marinate something in it.

Creamy with real strawberry flavor. Light pink color. This is Considerably better than I expected, good, smooth palate.

In bottle in NOLA. Beer pours a clear light gold with ample carbonation and thin white wispy crown. Very little lacing with a wonderfully sweet aroma of strawberries, but a slight hint of wheat malt turns me off a bit. Flavour is very light up front, not much malt sweetness or hop bitterness and a slightly crisp finish that leaves a hint of wheat on the palate. A few tastes have to be had before the strawberry taste accumulates on the palate and it can be enjoyed. It was not impressive upon first taste and was a beer that had to, but did, grow on me. Very light-bodied and aggressively carbonated unless purposely agitated. Great session beer, especially if you like sweeter flavours.

Light aroma of strawberries and wheat. Pours light yellow with a thin, bubbly head. Very good mouth feel. Very light flavor with a pleasant strawberry quality. Not fake, sugary. Good Summer beer!

Bottled. Poured clear pale golden with a short, fizzy cap of white head. The aroma picked up musty strawberry seeds with a wheat and pale malty backing.. not bad. The flavor had sticky-sweet pale malts at the core with the same musty strawberries and prickly wheat sourness.. dry and unpleasant on the back with an almost rotting strawberry feel.. empty and unsatisfying at the finish. Light-bodied on the palate with scratchy carbonation.. OK use of fruit, but still not enjoyable in any regard.

Interesting, but I don’t think I would drink this one again. Pours a slightly cloudy blond with a thin white head. Weird ripe strawberry aroma. Large strawberry flavor and very sweet. A bit too much for me.
