Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as they’re picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

12 oz. bottle. Label dates not notched. Regular yellow color under fizzy head, a little bit hazy. Strawberries in smell seems natural, not overdone, with room for beer malt in the nose, too. Well, I think the taste is enjoyable. Strawberries don’t overwhelm. Malt seems to carry more of the sweetness. Just a bit of hop bitterness. Finishes nicely. A simply well-done fruit beer, not an easy thing to find.

I found this beer to have a light and pleasant strawberry flavor. I feel this would be a nice and refreshing summertime beverage.

Bottle from Beltramo’s in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is sulphur, strawberry candy. Taste like someone put a few of those strawberry candies in a bottle of seltzer. Acidy and unwelcome...although might hold up next to a couple of BL Limes.

12 oz. bottle served in tumbler- poured a semi transparent mildly turbid orange-yellow color, wispy white head formed, laced extremely well upon the vessel, and stayed around long enough to have a smoke, take the dog out, and get a side drink of Powerade Zero (my dirty little secret of slamming back a case all night, then waking up at 6am wanting HELL.). Aroma of overly ripe strawberries, yeast, and strawberry quik- meh. Hits the mouth with a light body, strawberries dominate throughout, and you really have to find the malt- which seems kinda basic and not overly sweetened, middle is pure quik, finish is a trainwreck of sugar, strawberry quik, and the acid in your mouth after you vomit. Gee, that’s nice.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy light yellow color. Aroma and taste are grass and strawberries. A bit watery.

Smells like strawberry candy. Taste is tart but semi-sweet strawberries, including the green tops. Aftertaste is medium length with strawberry tartness that transitions into wheat. Medium body with sharp medium carbonation that is almost soda-like.

Bottle at home. Golden pour, light white head. Aroma of sweet strawberry juice in Ana enrage lager. Taste is strawberry, hay, grain. Almost like fruity pebbles. That’s it. This is fruity pebbles beer. Light body, sweet. Interesting, with some more refinement this could be pretty solid. Do a strawberry harvest IPA or something with other favors to balance the sweetness.

Aroma: Very bready malt aromas with hints of strawberry at the edges. Appearance: Cloudy gold with a thin white head. Taste: Medium sweetness with hints of sourness at the edges. Palate: Medium body, light carbonation, syrupy texture, long finish. Overall: Meh...it tastes like drinking strawberry jelly or something similar. Not too much beer, but a lot of fruit here.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a distinct strawberry aroma with some wheat Appearance- Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a thick white head. Taste- You can taste the strawberry, my first thought was that this would be a nice session beer on a hot day. Nice flavor. Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Has a creamy texture. Overall- A nice beer from Abita, I will drink this again.
