COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as they’re picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

Bottle. The pour was a cloudy medium golden yellow with an average (1-2 finger) white pillowy head that receded slowly down to a thick film with a medium collar and had excellent sheets of streaky lacing. The aroma was pretty basic with the scent of strawberries almost overpowering everything else, but I did notice a bit of grain malts and a mild sweaty yeast. The taste was mildly sweet and had a light malty feel with a hint of strawberry and a mild touch of grain throughout. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow, with a mildly bitter and slightly fruity aftertaste. Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with a fizzy carbonation. Overall a smooth easy to drink Fruit Lager with a nice low ABV. This is a brew that is refreshingly fruity and would be great on a hot summer’s day...

Hazy straw yellow in color... Aroma of fruity pebbles, artificial strawberries.... Flavor is crisp and refreshing, lots of wheat and strawberry notes, kind of tastes like juice, good if you are looking for that kind of thing... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear dark yellow. Strong strawberry aroma with wheat. Aroma is actually fairly similar to Cap’n Crunch crunch berries. Artificial strawberry flavor is also similar to crunch berries. Fizzy. I like Cap’n crunch but it’s a weird flavor to have in my beer.

6flight tap at Geraghty’s Pub, Burlington, nj. Wow... big strawberry and honey nose. Light cloudy ale is a fun brew and reminds me of bubblicious gum. Probably would stop at one pint.

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Straw color, slightly hazy, with a white head. Aroma of strawberry and a sub-par lager. Taste is wheat, very weak and artificial strawberry, and bad, impure watery lager. Similar to Purple Haze, but with strawberries rather than raspberries. Not a fan.

Aroma: all lager and little or no strawberry; Appearance: light straw, clear, with white head that dissipates slowly; Taste: starts with a lager and quickly transforms to odd, almost burned plastic taste; Palate: light bodied with no finish; Overall: really wanted to like this but don’t understand the appeal. Drain pour.

Smells of semi sweet strawberrlies and light malts. Nice light yellow color. Taste is slightly malty with a hint of strawberry in the backend. Smooth crisp carbonation with light body, quite refreshing. Not bad overall but could use a stronger strawberry flavor.

April 27th, 2014 - Pretty and blonde, the Harvest Lager is a playful sprite from a hot land, giving a sweet veneer to a light beer palate. The aroma is close to marketing, whipped cream and strawberries evident on the nose from the first whiff. Moving forward, the palate is light, which I appreciate, given that this feels like a way to cool down on a hot Southern summer day, and less like a way to finish a heavy winter meal. A lighter carbonation also gives this some much needed levity, and a bar against sweating brows and upper lips. Given my expectations for a brewery with a very large circulation, I’m quite pleased with the Strawberry Harvest Lager, and continue to suck on the honey flavored aftertaste after each sip.

I found this beer to have a light and pleasant strawberry flavor. I feel this would be a nice and refreshing summertime beverage.

Bottle from Beltramo’s in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is sulphur, strawberry candy. Taste like someone put a few of those strawberry candies in a bottle of seltzer. Acidy and unwelcome...although might hold up next to a couple of BL Limes.
