COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Turbodog is a dark brown ale brewed with Willamette hops and a combination of British pale, crystal and chocolate malts. This combination gives Turbodog its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate-toffee like flavor.

Some friends brought this back from New Orleans for me to try. Not great, but send more! I have to say that any beer with ’dog’ in it’s name is bound to get you somehow, but this one didn’t do anything naughty. Great for those workiing on a beer list, not worth much more.

a slightly dark brew with a very rich flavor, chocolately aftertaste is pleasant and this dog definetey has bite!

Read glowing reviews, was slightly disappointed---maybe my bottles were old---basic porter.

Very easy to drink. Lacking a great aroma or really any hop finish. Nice chocolate taste though. Definitely worth getting again.

I had this at a local Cajun joint near my house and let me tell you, this is THE perfect beer to drink with a creole dish. It did not impress me by itself but it complimented the food very nicely.

A really nice porter, even though a bit light. There’s enough flavor to sustain interest, but it won’t get in the way of food.

Tried it because of the interesting name. I would buy it again, if the dipstick on my car were reading low.

This is a pretty good beer for Louisiana.

A little lighter than I had expected, after reading so much about it. I had to drive to Virginia to try it, but it was worth it. Nice mix of flavors, but I think I was expecting more, given the hype surrounding this beer.

Finally available in California, this cult beer is really quite tasty. Sweet chocolate aroma with a bit of bread. Medium-light body with terrific chocolate, yeast, toffee and very mild roast characterists. Malty but with a dry finish. Definitely a winner and a fine session beer.
