A different tasting beer from what I expected. Looks and smells like a stout, but has the taste of a Scottish are or something simular. Interesting beer.

On Draught. This is a very respectable brown. Subtle sweetness that is in no way overbearing and balances well with it's hops. It ends with a dry finish. Nice beer.

Draught at 11 Madison Park, New York. Dark attractive beer with a large beige fluffy head. Poured just as you see it in the picture. Unusual tasting beer with plenty of flavours on offers. Blackberry and raspberry flavours, supplemented by chocolate and bitter hop structure. Really enjoyed this beer on New Years Eve.

Sweet caramel smell. Sweet, yet mellow, caramel taste with a cool, smooth expresso-like quality. Rich but not overbearing. A well-balanced beer. A perfect match-up for Pulled Pork and Collard Greens!

Light pleasant nose - non descript, dark dark brown color and low tight frothy head. Light caramelly malt body. Thinish. Is that a little butter in there? OK beer.

Brown with a small tan head. Fruity and hoppy aroma that includes some pine and smoke notes. Bitter and a little sour to the taste. A little sweet but almost like a tart, dark chocolate. Creamy on the palate.

Had this on tap at Copelands in Atlanta. Served in a frosted pint glass which I thought was just ridiculous. I figured this for a port when I drank it.. slightly surprised it's a brown ale, but I am kind of new at this. Standard coffee/chocolate/smokey aroma, but what really stood out during tasting was TOFFEE... I love the stuff, and it just went wonderful in this beer. I have a feeling that if it weren't for the sub zero temperature that this was served at, I would have noticed a much broader range of flavor. I did enjoy it nonetheless.

Very interesting brown ale! Medium tan head hides brown w/ amber tint beer. The tastes are what made this beer (6% ain't bad either!). Chocolaty-coffee, and slight linger similar to a spiced rum (noticed better when less cold). Odd ale, almost poter'ish. Remember to pick up again on cold winter night. ($6.50 ish)
