3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black with a tanned head. Nose of dark malts. Aroma of some light coffee and chocolate. Light, taste, but smooth coffee and roast, like a stout baby brother. Enjoyable!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
The pour was a dark hazy, reddish-brown with an average size light brown head that produced a fine coat of lacing on the glass with each sip.
Aroma: dark roasted malt with a lightly spicy hop presence. A bit earthy with notes of chocolate and hints of dark fruits and toffee.
Taste: nicely malty with clear spicy hop note. Medium and dark malt flavor without any burnt notes. A hint of coffee in the finish. Excellent bitter/sweet balance in this lightly sweet brown.
Mouthfeel: medium in body; semi-creamy; excellent, medium carbonation.
Overall a somewhat bold and flavorful brew, that has a slightly spicier and more aggressive [Northwest American] hop profile than the typical UK version.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: Dark ruby with a half finger of pretty dark tan bubbly head. Orange highlights. Low retention but nice streaks of lacing.
S: Caramel malt smell and little else but the beer is very cold. Not much development noticed as drunk though. Maybe a little Dark fruit?
T: Toasted dark bread and those subdued willamette hops that I love. A leathery touch of sweet toffee. Good balance of flavors. I like it.
M: Medium bodied with noticeable weight and low but noticeable carbonation. Finishes clean, not syrupy.
O: Surprisingly good. One of the best brown ales I’ve tried lately and well priced so I would recommend this and will buy it again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle from Wegmans, West Seneca, NY. A cola coloured pour with a thin cream head that laces the glass pleasantly; aroma of toffee with some earthy hops; a rich, toasty, toffee flavoured body that sits nicely in the mouth and is not too sweet and has a touch of smoke; and then a dry finish with a trace of chocolate. Rather good.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep dark black with a little bit of head. Sweeter than I expected with a nice malt backbone and just bitter enough hop profile.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Neighbor brought this over. Not a bad brown ale. Nutty, caramel, the touch of earthy hops makes it interesting enough.
