A fqir Brown Ale. Godd taste on first sip but the finish is not very good. Slightly dry. Good color, head but an average beer for sure!

Bottle - 355ml. Very dark brown body with a thin beige foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with roasty and woody hints. Its good malty/hoppy taste carries woody, roasted cereals, and some subtle liquorice notes. Ends with a decent bitter/roasty finish. Enjoyable.

Pours a clear dark brown with auburn hues and a small light-brown head. Aroma of nuts, roasted malt, caramel and a touch of chocolate. Flavour pretty much follows the aroma but is milder then the aroma leads you to believe. It has quite a dry finish. Body’s a little flat and light.

Poured from 12 ounce bottle purchased as part of an Abita variety 12 pack from Jeff’s Marathon, tasted on April 5, 2015. Dark brown hue, strong malty aroma, moderate malt flavor with chocolate, coffee and toffee elements. Some chemical notes keep this from getting a higher score. Still, better than I remember it from the mid 90’s at Abita’s brewpub.

This shit brown. Got head, not like a BJ but foam. Smells like some swwwweeet lousiannnnn sugahcane and a little bit uh mohlahsis. Smells finer than miss Louise’s sweet tea, who eee. Roll tide. Tastes like somebody done toasted something tasty and made it a beer, but with caramehl. Uh huh. Caramehl. When this gets in mah mouth, it makes me wanna dance a jig. I reckon this would be great with squirrel and dumplins. Or maybe during a date with mah sister. Roll tide.

A: Dark brown with ruby highlights, almost cola in colour. Light brown head is dense and has cling. Gobs of lacing down the sides. S: Sweet malts in the aroma. Fruit cake, chocolate, coffee. T: Flavor is the same as the aroma. Rich and smooth, full bodied with moderate carbonation. Gives you the impression of a dense loaf of bread with touches of chocolate and coffee. AT: Dark Chocolate and Coffee at the end.

3/10/15 Draft (The Laughing Man DC) - Very dark pour, nice tan head. Nice malt aroma with a hint of caramel. Strong harsh taste, chocolate toffee flavor taste. Liked this a lot. Texture decent carbonation, nice finish and decent kick. Very good beer.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. The pour was a dark hazy, reddish-brown with an average size light brown head that produced a fine coat of lacing on the glass with each sip. Aroma: dark roasted malt with a lightly spicy hop presence. A bit earthy with notes of chocolate and hints of dark fruits and toffee. Taste: nicely malty with clear spicy hop note. Medium and dark malt flavor without any burnt notes. A hint of coffee in the finish. Excellent bitter/sweet balance in this lightly sweet brown. Mouthfeel: medium in body; semi-creamy; excellent, medium carbonation. Overall a somewhat bold and flavorful brew, that has a slightly spicier and more aggressive [Northwest American] hop profile than the typical UK version.
