COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Turbodog is a dark brown ale brewed with Willamette hops and a combination of British pale, crystal and chocolate malts. This combination gives Turbodog its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate-toffee like flavor.

Very dark reddish-brown with a thick tan head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma of cold coffee, chocolate, and malt. Thin palate. Some hops and bitter chocolate up front and finishes clean with some sweet chocolate malt notes. Good beer.

12oz bottle - pours dark amber with khaki head and good lacing. Nose is caramel and roast. Favor adds dark chocolate and nuttiness. Medium body. Moderately sweet and bitter for a balanced finish, but still on sweet side for the style. Slight coffee aftertaste. Label says 5.6% ABV. Something tells me the water for this beer was subpar.

Draft at Bodega La Crossed, WI. Nutty flavor. A bit flat. Pleasant enough. I would have it again.

Bottle. Pours clear brown with a quickly disappearing head. Aroma of bready malt and chocolate. Bready and chocolate malt in the taste too, becoming dry and watery halfway through, ending with some English hops. Flat.

The aroma was strong, but the head and the color were excellent. Very dark with a long lasting head. It has a decent taste to it. It’s a decent brew.

On tap at Taco Mac. Dark brown with reddish tint. Aroma of caramel and toasted malt. Taste follows the nose. There is also a bit of unpleasant bitterness present. Mouthfeel is weak - a bit too thin. Overall, ok but wouldn’t seek out again.

A mediocre porter. Malty aroma and taste. Pours dark. I don’t know I enjoyed this one when I was younger but not anymore.

Pours dark brown but clear, quick dissipating head. Aroma is a bit medicinal and somewhat toasty. Tastes roasted with a bit of medium caramel. Aftertaste hints at dark chocolate and also a bit astringent. An example of a Brown ale that should be in the lower 50%.

Pours a dark brown almost black. Frothy head with good lacing. Notes of coffee syrup and malts. Full bodied great brew.
