Bottle from Total Wine in Roseville, CA. Poured a dark brown with a tan head. Hints of chocolate and nuts in the flavor. A somewhat thin-bodied beer, that goes down smooth. Very drinkable beer.

From bottle: Very dark brown in appearance. Surprisingly thin mouthfeel. Curious combination of malts and hops. Is almost like a black IPA. I’d like more chocolate notes.

Iznogud (1477) - CROATIA - JUN 20, 2015
Bottle, 355 ml at O’hara, Zagreb. Shared with JFK10000. Pours dark brown with beige head. Malty, milk chocolate, very drinkable. Light sweetish, bit watery. Nothing spectacular, but really liked the drinkability, would be nice as everyday beer.

Bottle. Clear, amber, frothy, tan foam, medium bitterness, light sweetness, light body, thin feel, soft carbonation, & astringent finish.

swannycellars (41) - Swanbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUN 9, 2015
Pours deep brown with thin beige head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, a little coffee, earth. Very thin in the mouth with clean flavours of vanilla, choc, black olive, spice. In my opinion it’s very thin and short but has potential if revved up a bit. Potential session option and still better than a lot of dark beers.

UXO (771) - CANADA - JUN 7, 2015
Pours clear brown with one finger of loose light beige head demising gradually to a thin skim, minimal lacing. (3/5) Nose is roasty malt, coffee, chocolate, toffee, dark fruit, slight nutty. (6/10) Taste is moderate sweet, mild bitter. (6/10) Medium body tending a little to the watery, lively carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish. (3/5) Not much to say here - fairly typical English Brown. The body is a little on the watery side, and the carbonation a little on the high side, as compared to more conventional browns - which actually makes it pretty drinkable, so there’s that? (12/20)

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2015 At Pivoteka. Dark brown body, slightly tinged with amber with a big, thick off white head. Gusher too. Raisins in the aroma. Taste... Raisins, slightly watery, diluted... sticky raisin water with light roast basically.

Bottle to shaker glass, pours reddish brown, two finger beige head, some lace and decent retention. Aroma of roasted malt. Taste is mainly sweet with just a touch of bitterness. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, mouth feel is a little thin. Finishes sweet. Tasting notes of toffee, roasted chocolate malt, nuts and brown sugar. It’s alright, nothing out of the ordinary.

Bottle to glass. Better than I remember this beer from long past, half forgotten trips to the crescent city. Appearance is dark brown, but translucent. Big healthy white head, Aroma is brown sugar, cinnamon bread, malt Taste is sugar cinnamon, bread, (do I taste beignet). Very full, sweet and tasty. Medium carbonation that lasts. Very pleased. I’ll buy this again.

Hard to tell looks, from bottle. Light caramel aroma, but good bitter taste, caramel and toffee tones. Nice beer. (New Orleans 201505)
