AndrewKScott (246), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jul 15, 2008 Ok, I was impressed with this one. Maybe the best thing I’ve experience in New Orleans. Nice tan foam, deep dark color. A bit of a sweet taste with a chocolately finish. Did not remind me of what I traditionally think of a brown ale, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, in fact, I was pretty impressed by this. TEJA (27), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 14, 2008 Nice foam that lingers. Semi dark beer. Aroma of burnt malts. Some bitterness and sweetness but well balansed. This american brown is one I would like to have more of and preferbly on tap. alraicercsu (60), Ft.Collins, Colorado, USA Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown with an ok size tan head. Aroma is malt and grain. Its semi sweet and bitter. jcr (811), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jul 9, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown body with an average size tan head that disappears. The aroma is mostly malty with notes of roasted malts, some dark chocolate, some grain. The flavor is moderatley sweet and lightly bitter. The finish is moderately bitter and leaves a burnt taste with a slight hint of metal. Medium body with a watery texture and zippy carbonation. Seems out of kilter with the sweet notes followed by such a harsh finish. robforbes (639), Bremerton, Washington, USA Jul 6, 2008 purchased at world market in silverdale, washington.
pours dark with a red tint, small tan head, good lacing.
smell is cocoa, malt, touch of caramel.
taste is smooth, bittersweet chocolate, sour malt, ends bitter.
