12 ounce bottle- Pours out a beautiful translucent mahogany with a stout-like head, thick, khaki and long lasting. The aroma was caramel and toffee with notes of malt. Palate was absolutely perfect, scoring a 5.0, mouth filling and incredibly smooth. Taste was sweet, sweet, sweet, with caramel and dark berries. This would make a perfect desert beer with hot pecan pie. Thanks, Todd, a good addition to the fridge.

12 oz. bottle from Cash Wise in Watford City. Appearance: finger dark brown head, ok lacing, dark brown color, clear. Aroma: roasted grain, light chocolate, very faint floral hops. Palate: full body, average carbonation, slightly oily texture, light bitter finish. Taste: sweet malty front followed by astringent bitter roasted grain and light hops bitter. Overall, nice smooth texture, very drinkable, good tastes.

Bottle; Love the dark color, but the taste doesnít match the rich dark look. After taste is flat. Head disappeared too quickly.

12oz bottle poured into a plastic cup. The aroma is quite damp with notes of caramel, fig, and a distinct dirt / earthiness to it. Thereís chocolate lingering as a secondary aroma with some grains late. About midway through the glass a distinct aroma that I could only relate to a "wet dog smell" came through. It poured a dark mahogany color with a medium tan ring that had a soapy quality to it with a light, dusty surface layer. A light lacing is left on the cup. The taste is a medium bitter and light sweet. Creamy carbonation give the beer a smooth texture with itís medium-light body. The flavors are mostly fig, toast, and caramel with a burnt and sugary note in there at the finish. Itís kinda woody, too. The aftertaste is a syrupy and cloying taste which turns to burnt coffee late.

Yes! I love a surprise. Bottle at Hickory Tavern. Pours brown/black with tan foamy head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, toasted marshmallow. Taste combines those with some good Willamette hops...so you get sweeter and savory notes. A good "deep" brown with layers of flavor.
