3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. The pour was a dark murky brown with an average sized (1-2 finger) light brown head that receded into a few puddles of residue that produced some good spotty lacing.
The aroma was of a dark roasted malt, a mild resin hop and an earthy yeast with notes of chocolate, coffee, molasses and a hint of toffee.
The taste was lightly sweet and superbly malty with notes of chocolate and molasses from the start with the finish having a mild hoppy taste and a nice dose of coffee at the end. The flavor lasted a nice long time letting the malty coffee flavor which had a hint of hoppiness, settle in.
Mouthfeel was medium in body with the texture being rather creamy and having a mild carbonation.
Overall a bold, robust, full tasting brew that had just a light hint of hops which offset everything rather nicely.

Bottiglia 35 cl.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
355ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of treacle, a touch of toffee and chocolate. Taste is slightly dry, dark malty, notes of toffee, hints of chocolate, a touch of treacle and liquorice, minimally soapy, hoppy overtones. Narrow and restricted, anaemic, hitting just a fraction of the taste buds.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Saturday Shirt and poured into a pint glass. Brown in color with tannish head. Aroma has some nuttiness and malty notes. Taste is very mild with some minor raisin sweetness, slight roasted malt, and a little bitterness. Mouthfeel is thin with a quick finish. Nothing too interesting going on but drinkable. Turbodog sounds like a ballpark food which is appropriate for the Twins home opener today.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
At just on cool and into a snifter. Settles a muddied brown and almost opaque with a thick, whipped up off-white foam that holds for the length. The nose is heavily earthy like top-soil and peat with a generous amount of velvety, milk chocolate, rich timber and Dutch cocoa powder. Rather rough on the palate but in a good way. Burnt coffee bean and bitter burnt sugars mingle with smooth chocolate ganache and a very spicy and sharply hoppy tail end. Quite chewy with a bigger body than expected. Finish is spicy, earthy and nutty with lingering roasted peanuts. A touch of smoke and ash comes through also. Carbonation is light and spritzy offering a lightness to the malty palate. This is bang sessionable stuff. I liked it! (35,5cL, BB 29/06/16, BIDBeer)
