It’s a normal lager or pilsener, but the name "Svensk Starköl" means swedish strong beer. After several decades swedish temperance mafia has dictated how to make definitions for alcoholic beverages, the swedes now are used to these odd terms, and can only buy beer up to abv 3.5% in supermarkets. In Norway and Finland that limit is 4.75%. Åbro Svensk Starköl is clear golden and has a very mild aroma of grass and sweet malts. Taste is mild, slightly crispy, bread, malts, grains. It feels ok in the mouth. Finishes with bread, dough, grains. Overall average, inoffensive, easy. (33cl can abv5.1%, b@Systembolaget Luleå Sweden, tasted@home Norway)

(Can) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of bread, grain, peaches and citrus. Malty taste with bread, honey, hints of vegetables and a touch of grass in a short finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Low bitterness. Fairly bland taste with a middle-of-the-roadish pale lager character. Quite boring.

Typical Swedish lager beer. But the little tastier version. Good scent. The taste is also quite okay. The aftertaste is left a little while. Perfectly okay. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
