Black pour with slight light penetration around the edges - smooth but quite sweet, although that is not surprising for the style - a lot of vanilla bean and bittersweet chocolate - moderate coffee roastiness - milk chocolate finish and light hop pepperiness to compliment the light alcohol heat - pretty dang good Baltic porter.

At Avery’s 2012 Strong Ale Fest. Clear black with a rocky light khaki head. Aroma is dark and nutty, with some light chocolaty tones and some light smokiness. Taste is crisp and dark, with dark malt sweetness, a light chocolaty tone, ending roasty with burnt-just-right toffee, dark chocolate and a gentle smokiness.

arminjewell (3096) - Parker, Colorado, USA - OCT 8, 2011
Poured hazy reddish brown with off white head, aroma had notes of some sour grain, toffee, coffee, some chocolate and some slight roast. Taste is watery, slight notes of grain, sour roast, and a touch of vanilla sweetness, really unappetizing combo of flavors but it was ok.

Cask Stillage from the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 26/09/2009 Hoppy aroma. Beige head. Dark coloured rich on the palate fruity and strong in alcohol with a crisp and bitter roast finish.

On tap at Falling Rock poured a clear dark brown with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, prunes, raisins, dark chocolate, mollasses and light vanilla. Palate was medxium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, prune, raisin, dark chocolate, molasses and a hint of vanilla with a smooth dry lingering roasty malty finish.
