At Avery’s 2012 Strong Ale Fest. Clear black with no head. Had a somewhat boozy aroma with dry oak and malty dark chocolate with vanilla and more booziness. Taste is woody mild chocolate with a slight vanilla tone, more prominent at the end. But there is zero carbonation, so it feels weird.

On tap at Avery Strong Ale Fest poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of roastiness, light whiskey, light fruittiness and a hint of oask. Palate wasa medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of whiskey, cocoa, light vanilla and light oak with a smooth lingering whiskey finish.

A dark reddish brown porter with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, a woody chocolate with light peaty notes, some light off notes. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate with light woody notes, tobacco, light lactic points, very nice. On tap at FoBAB 2011.
