750mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan / brown head. Aroma is complex, with bourbon, vanilla and cocoa. Flavour is elegant, with boozy bourbon notes, vanilla, and alcoholic finish. Very well-balanced. Surprising quality from the big guys.

CTAYT Gotta disagree fully with the last review. Forget who makes this. Complex as all get out. Pours black as night. Flavor and aromas of vanilla, fudge, coconut, graham cracker, bourbon. Thick and sweet, but not cloying, and very very smooth, especially with an abv somewhere around 12% or so. This was THE unanimous favorite at our last tasting. An absolutely delicious impy stout. A medal winner at GABF, and I can see why."

Very well aged and brewed. Hints of coffee, chocolate and coffee enhance the overall taste and the pleasing aroma. Pours out dark with a faint khaki head that leaves a little lace.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a very dark brown with medium creamy beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong dark chocolate, roast, coffee bean. Medium mouthfeel with rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, and wood. Easy to drink, good.

Bottle at Blippsmas! Pours a deep brown to black with a thin white head. Cocoa and a bit of roast, whiskey, vanilla, wood. Medium-bodied, starts off with a nice amount of roast and a bit of cocoa and then it all vanishes. Warm wood and toast into the finish.

Bottle. Pours near black with a beige head. Oaky and roasted malts, $10 whiskey, some sweetness, and a hint of oxidation. I truly expected this to be pretty good, but it was a bit of a dud.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2013 Bottle shared by me at Blippsmas. Brought back by me from Denver. Pours dark brown with brown head. Nose and taste of fudge, milk chocolate, brownie, charred oak, cheap whiskey and vanilla. Medium body. A bit artificial. Not as good as expected given the ratings. The sours by AC Golden were much better.

From bottle at private tasting last June. Specified as Hidden Barrel Series #2 CTAYT Russian Imperial Stout. Pours dark brown with small head. Aroma of coconut macaroons, chocolate malt balls. Moderate carbonation and big penetrating mouthfeel. Flavors of burnt malts, tost, roasted malts. Overall a bit rough with charred malts.
