COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ace Pear is made from a base of 100% pure, local apple juice. Pear essence is added to give the cider its distinctive pear taste; a taste so fresh and natural it is already proving as popular as its more traditional apple counterpart.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear straw gold with a fizzy white head that vaporizes immediately after the pour. The aroma is apples and pears with a bit of baker’s yeast in the nose as well. The flavor is exactly the same as the aroma with apples, pears and a bit of yeast. So so.

This Perry has a simple aroma with hints of cotton candy and watermellon. It poors nice and golden with a crisp white head. Overall it is a good quality perry cider with a fine palate.

Ahhh. Pretty bad beer. Had a hard time drinking much of this. Tart and sweet with pear, vanilla, and extracted flavors. Not good.

Aroma of watermelon candy. Flavor of cucumbers with cider vinegar. Very strange.

Bottle poured into flute- poured transparent green golden, heavy carbonation, aroma of pears and alcohol. Hits the mouth with a thin body, can taste alot of carbonation, apple and pear flavors come through cleanly but seem artificial to me, finish is dry. Not all that crazy about this one...

pours crystal clear golden color with a thin film of a white head. not very lively looking. aroma has sweet pear, subtle watermelon (reminds me of watermelon now-n-laters), and a hint of faint straw. flavor definitely has sweet pear and still somwhat reminds me of watermelon now-n-laters...no alcohol or winey notes...smooth. mouthfeel is a bit thin and the finish lingers subtley of pear. great showcasing of pear in this cider.

otakuden (1558) - Vero Beach, USA - FEB 4, 2011
Appearance: light yellow with potentially pale pear green hues, potentially. White head is fairly generous, leaving a bubbly puddle bordered by a bubbly collar. Steady stream of carbonation.
Nose: pulped pears and pear ice. Angel food cake sweetness, powdered sugar. White and green grapes, flesh only. Touch of must.
Palate: pears meet angel food cake meet powdered sugar meet pear Italian ice. Offsetting intense sweetness disrupts the pear potential of faint pulped pear and green grapes. Grapes last longest after swallow while the palate dries incrementally.
Final Thoughts: had potential but fell short on pretty much all attempts. Needed to be drier, less cloyingly sweet, and with some complimentary must and bitterness. Back to the drawing board.
