Tap at Achelse Kluis, Belgium: Hazy blonde colored brew with an slightly sweet bitter taste, very slightly hints of citrus. Normally not so fond about Belgian blonde beers, but this one nailed it for me.

Shinning golden hue, ivory head. Low aromatic intensity: fine butter, bread, plum, lemon cake. Fresh, sizzling, developing itself greatly as it moves through the mouth. Long finish with hints of tea and scones. Soft and tasty.

Licht troebel lichtgeel bier met weinig schuim. Gedronken op het klooster, want alleen daar verkrijgbaar. Smaak is lichtbitter, lichtzoet en smaakvol. Blijft redlijk lang hangen. Gewoon erg goed bier.

One of the two Achel ’refter beers’ which are only available from tap at the monastery, tasted there in 2005. Misty peach blonde beer with medium snow white head; malty and fruity, sweetish with honeyish touch, straightforward with low hop bitterness, somewhat creamy, very quenching (I can imagine drinking this against the thirst on a hot day during a cycling trip in the monastery’s vicinity).

UPDATED: APR 19, 2015 Cloudy golden color. Cream is high, dense and durable as well. Aroma refers to a tasty beer, soft and subtly fruity. With an intense carbonation that does not actually harm the set, but unfortunately brings a certain astringency. Really noteworthy is its fruity bitterness, by the presence of herbal hops, roasted and slightly caramelized malts. Alcohol approximate relatively well and hardly appears. The final shown over again delicate and fruity well. The Afetertaste is soft but noticeable. It really does show a prominent Trappist, but it does not ugly. Interesting and good drinkability beer.
