UPDATED: AUG 1, 2014 A very nice well balanced blonde beer. Has a bit of the citrus with mild grapefruit flavored hop bitter and a floral and herbal sweetness. Mouthfeel is very interesting. Has a nice smooth finish with tingly carbonation and a sugary feel. Very tasteful and refreshing beer.

Licht troebel lichtgeel bier met weinig schuim. Gedronken op het klooster, want alleen daar verkrijgbaar. Smaak is lichtbitter, lichtzoet en smaakvol. Blijft redlijk lang hangen. Gewoon erg goed bier.

One of the two Achel ’refter beers’ which are only available from tap at the monastery, tasted there in 2005. Misty peach blonde beer with medium snow white head; malty and fruity, sweetish with honeyish touch, straightforward with low hop bitterness, somewhat creamy, very quenching (I can imagine drinking this against the thirst on a hot day during a cycling trip in the monastery’s vicinity).

Cloudy golden color. Cream high, dense and permanent and great Trappist appearance. The aroma is tasty and softly fruity, with a light citrus where the malt and hops are presentes.Lembra a bit witbiers. The sample has a high carbonation in a medium body, a light sweetness, highlighting its fruity bitterness, malt, herbs and floral finalizing an interesting and full-bodied flavor. Alcohol hormoniza well and little appears. A beautiful beer for any time not being cloying have great chance to please every palate.

Draught @ Achelse Kluis. Hazy yellow color, medium sized white head that leaves fair lacing. Smell and taste malts, yeast, lightly herbal, lightly bitter. Average to medium body and carbonation.

On tap at the monastery. Looks like you would expect a Belgian Blonde to look like. Surprisingly tart flavour. Not my favourite from Achel; I’ll take the Bruin any day over this. Still, not a bad beer by any means.
