330cl bottle pours a great hazy golden beer with a huge white gead that lasts a great amount of time. Aroma is some orange and lemon citrus that is very refreshing. Taste is very refreshing with some citrus, fruit sugars and light hops. This is an amazing beer that has a great body, flavor and finish. A very well rounded beer.

(Draght at the monastary) On March 22, 2008. Shady orange color, tan head. Herbal fruity hoppy scent. Fresh herbal hoppy taste. Really nice and seems to be newly produced. Medium to full a bit spritzy mouthfeel. Medium to moderate bitterness.

This rating marks my completion of having a beer from every trappist brewery. Could have done this long ago, just never bothered to buy an Achel bottle. Clear golden pour that hints plenty towards orange with a huge bright white head that lasts for ages, sticks in big clumps, and laces a ton. Grainy Belgian aroma with plenty of sweet sugars and funky and spicy yeast as well. Sweet flavorful pale malt flavor with sugars, candy, sweetness, and even some nice dryness as well. Huge high carbonation with lasting chalkiness as well.

On tap @ De Achelse Kluis. Aroma has citrus, yeast, some spice and hoppiness. Hazy, yellow coloured beer with a creamy, lasting white head. the taste isrefreshing, slightly bitter, citric, bit earthy, yeasty and has spice. Very well balanced. Great belgian session ale.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2006 Draught Good white head, very slightly receding over dark golden beer with greenish shine. Perfect nose of combined dry malts and good Saaz hops - WOW! Very nice, clean hops and dry pale malts taste - classic but agreable. Very perfumed but undeniable hopsflavour retronasal. Light, refreshing, very light almond flavour in the aftertaste, palm tree (Buxus) aroma. Great, refreshing, drinking ale of Trappist quality.

On tap at Achelse Kluis. Beautiful orangey golden with a lacing head. Good fruity nose with hints of orange zest. In the mouth a nice blend of honey, hay and fruit. Dry finish. Lekker
