2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 bierkoning (8099) - La Tropica, - JUL 28, 2011
Tap @ brewery. Blonde, hazy. Citrus and rancid butter in the aroma. Watery mouthfeel. Firm hop character with cellar notes. Grassy. Hints of rancid butter in the flavor. Something must have gone wrong.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Countbeer (1927) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAY 21, 2012
Draught:
Medium vaster white head, disappears slow and leaves a frotty/sticky island full lacing on top of a hazy yellow, with orange tints, colored beer.
Smell hops, citrus, lemon, wheat, grains, malts and herbs.
Taste is a nice bitter mix of hops, citrus, fruit, hint of yeast, malts, light dry, herbs, light hint of sweets and a grainy touch.
Nice bitter hop and light fruity aftertaste.
Low to medium carbo, soft tingly mouthfeel, medium body and a light watery light creamy texture.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Mathieu87 (73) - Ganshoren, BELGIUM - DEC 23, 2011
Dit bier heeft geen al te beste indruk bij mij nagelaten.
Hoewel hun 8 een lekker blond biertje is, is deze iets te flets.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - DEC 18, 2011
Erfrischend hefig-herber Antrunk, nicht ganz vollmundig. Wenig hopfig, herber werdend, dabei sind die belgischen Kräuternoten eher gering. Herb-bitterer, leicht zitrusartiger Abgang. 10/9/10/8//9
4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 marcot (771) - Campomorone, ITALY - OCT 11, 2011
In abbazia. Una delle migliori belgian blond mai bevute. Per me vale quasi la Westvleteren Blond. Molto sottovalutata.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Thorpe429 (3823) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - SEP 16, 2011
On tap at the Achel cafe during last week’s trip to Belgium. Reviewed from notes.
Surprisingly, this one was not served in an Achel chalice, but rather just a plain chalice. A bit disappointing.
Pours a slightly-hazy yellow with a big white head and lots of lacing. Light grain and floral hops in the nose, carrying over to the flavor, which is a bit grainy but more toward the hops with a bit of earthy yeast. Light and smooth with crisp carbonation. Very solid brew.

Clear blond beer, white creamy head, stable and adhesive, nice lacing. Aroma: some candi sugar, fruity touch, hops. MF: light carbon, light body. Taste: bitter hops, citrus, touch of dairy, little bit of sugar. Aftertaste: pretty bitter but not dry, grapefruit.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 thewolf (8621) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUN 6, 2011
Tap @ Achelse Kluis, Belgium.
Pours hazy blonde with a lovely, staying, creamy, white head. Aroma is sweet, light spicy, malty and with a bit of apple. Medium carbonation, pleasant fat mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, fresh malts, apple, light banana. Some Belgien sugar. Kinda chewy and light grainy in the mild bitter finish. Really nice and fresh.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JohnnyMummbles (151) - Pitman, New Jersey, USA - DEC 13, 2010
330cl bottle pours a great hazy golden beer with a huge white gead that lasts a great amount of time. Aroma is some orange and lemon citrus that is very refreshing. Taste is very refreshing with some citrus, fruit sugars and light hops. This is an amazing beer that has a great body, flavor and finish. A very well rounded beer.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 drowland (3879) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 16, 2010
This rating marks my completion of having a beer from every trappist brewery. Could have done this long ago, just never bothered to buy an Achel bottle. Clear golden pour that hints plenty towards orange with a huge bright white head that lasts for ages, sticks in big clumps, and laces a ton. Grainy Belgian aroma with plenty of sweet sugars and funky and spicy yeast as well. Sweet flavorful pale malt flavor with sugars, candy, sweetness, and even some nice dryness as well. Huge high carbonation with lasting chalkiness as well.
