3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Savvy1982 (1430) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 9, 2010
Bottle. Pours mildly hazy yellow, medium bubbly white head, spotty lacing. Strong carbonation. Head is highly persistent. Nose is spicy, dry, mildly phenolic in a pleasant way, leather, chalk, lemons, white pepper, spice. Flavors are creamy sherbet lemons, chalk, white pepper, clean & pleasant. Finish is lemon, pea pods, chalk. Very nice, but pale Belgian Strong Ales aren’t really my thing, nor are most tripels.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - JUN 30, 2010
Purchased in a 330ml bottle at Pub Italia in Ottawa, Ontario. Poured a cloudy beige-gold colour with a white head that dissipated fast enough, but leaving a creamy coat over the brew. The lacing is decent. Mild nose with some fruit, like pears. Light, but yet full-bodied. The fruit is present in the taste too, with the addition of green apples and hints of nuts. Overall, a pretty light-feeling Trappist ale that is quite refreshing.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rando7 (485) - Iowa, USA - JUN 16, 2010
Bottle pour gives cloudy dark yellow with thick persistent head. Super lacing. Aroma fruits, spices, a little tart. Taste light fruits, spices, yeasts/ palate medium. Finish a bit too tart and hoppy. Really tastes like a tripel to me.
It’s OK, but wouldn’t go out of my way to drink it.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Countbeer (1927) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JUN 15, 2010
Bottle:
Very big white foamy head that disappears very slow.
Big fruity smell, also hops, malts spices and bitter.
Golden yellow color.
Taste is spice, fruity, slight bitter and dry.
Warm palate, hints of alcohol, but overall pretty well balanced.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 madvike (1463) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 13, 2010
Bottle - Pours deep amber with a massive off-white head and tons of FLOATIES! Smells light and hoppy, with a bit of heat, toffee, and plum. Taste is light and sweet, with some dark fruit notes, skunk, and sugary sweet finish with lots of yeastiness. It’s got lots of velvety carbonation, leading to a smooth, syrupy mouthfeel. This is some good stuff, but like most of the Trappist beers, I wish it were a little more affordable.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Niko100 (1175) - New York, USA - JUN 10, 2010
Hazy golden color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of yeast, fruit, clove, some bananas, & hops; Flavor of sweet malt, yeast, fruit, spice, citrus, and hops; Nicely balanced & complex; A solid blonde ale overall.
2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Abio (1128) - Waasland, BELGIUM - MAY 22, 2010
Yellow, lightly orange poured out in the glass. Nice looking foam, that holds good. Sour fruit-earthy smell. Not my kind of smel. A bit like dishwater. Made me expect the worst for the taste. But that was way better. More fruits, bread-sweet, some sourness inside. A bit sad of the smell
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 capali1234 (229) - HUNGARY - MAY 21, 2010
Cloudy golden colour. Quite a lot of bitty sediment. I think a typicall belgian blone beer.
