COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A pale, strong, fruity, hoppy Trappist ale from one of Belgium’s six official abbey breweries. Achel 8° is hard to find even in Belgium; in the U.S. it’s up there with the rarest of beers. This blond, flavorful beer is a surprisingly refreshing brew at 8% alcohol by volume. It is lightly filtered, but still wholesomely hazy with yeast remaining and refermenting in the bottle.

11.2 oz bottle at home. Pours a hazy golden color with a large fluffy white head. The aroma and flavor have pale malts, Belgian yeast, candi sugar, very fruity, citrus, peach, apple, even a hint of floral character, finish was a hint soft, but this is a decent enough beer.

A really beautiful and impressive foam appears after pouring. It has also a nice aroma where the fruit is the predominant factor. In tastes are a little citrus, peach and other sweet indefinable fruit. Tends to work out, but a long aftertaste of malt sweetness and fruit impart a different and in particular very pleasant experience.

Typical Belgian yeast aroma - spices, peach, banana. Pours golden with nice white head. Taste is medium sweet, quite fruity, citrus. Alcohol well hidden only slightly warms the throat, easy drinking. Overall very good Belgian blond.

0,33 l bottle from belgiuminabox, bottled in july 2014 (one year old). Clear, golden yellow with a huge, creamy, stable, white head. Intense, fruity-yeasty aroma of citrus, peach, banana, vanilla, honey and straw. Sweetish, fruity-yeasty taste of citrus, banana, peach, vanilla, honey and straw. Medium long, quite hoppy, yeasty, minimally metallic and a little warming finish. Medium body, very creamy and effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. A delicious brew with a fantastic mouthfeel. Superbly balanced and super smooth. Great!

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Hazy golden body with a thick white head. Lively carbonation. Lots of lacing. Aroma of salted lime, white bread, flower petals, caramel and lemon. Flavour of coriander, pear, lemon sorbet and white sugar. Barely a hint of the ABV. Medium body with a frothy texture. An amazing beer, incredibly easy drinking for the strength.

Tastes like the Westmalle (origine) but softer, rounder, more balanced (if i remember westmalle correctly). Floral smelling hops, then a yeasty, peppery taste.
