COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A pale, strong, fruity, hoppy Trappist ale from one of Belgium’s six official abbey breweries. Achel 8° is hard to find even in Belgium; in the U.S. it’s up there with the rarest of beers. This blond, flavorful beer is a surprisingly refreshing brew at 8% alcohol by volume. It is lightly filtered, but still wholesomely hazy with yeast remaining and refermenting in the bottle.

Pours a nice clear blonde color with a nice fluffy white head that sticks around. Amazing lacing! Aroma has belgian spice, lemongrass, spicy hops and freshly cut grass. Smells quite good. Flavor has a some alcohol presence with a big fruitiness and flavors of bread and some dusty yeastiness. Quite a good beer, though not the best trappist blonde i have tried.

Poured from a 33cl bottle, 2009 vintage. The aroma is slightly musty, fruity esters, bready sweet malts. The flavor is honey sweet, bready, fruity esters. This is a fantastic beer.
