Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, and spicy. Flavor is sweet, fruity, herbal, and earthy, with some hoppy bitterness. Very lively carbonation.

33cL bottle, Trappist Tasting at Joe T.’s. Pours a deep golden color; high clarity; creamy, medium-bubbled white head with excellent retention and lacing. Some notes of white wine grapes, white pepper, along with some warming, vinous alcohol; well-handled, approximating the pepperiness and yeast prominence of a tripel; rounded, warming character, well-done, but this profile never does a lot for me. Medium to medium-full body; lively, fluffy carbonation; lightly creamy, non-astringent, slightly warming; medium honey notes, Belgian sugar sweetness, lots of white pepper and spicy yeast attributes; again, like a slightly sweeter tripel, in my mind; lasting finish of peppery notes, honey, and dry toastiness; balanced to nearly dry, nicely done, well-attenuated, but doesn’t quite approach a profile that works for me, personally.

Gold belond colour, very big dense head, almost massive. You can bite in it and it shows the gap from the bite. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is orange peels, some coriander, and some lime.taste is bitter, some herbs, and lots of hops. It’s a dominatingly dry finish. Nice trappist.

Whooa, what an opening! From appearing almost flat inside the bottle and in the initial stage of pouring, this bottle of Achel 8 Blond proves to be the feistiest Trappist I’ve experienced this far - that is, without being a gusher. When I finally manage to empty the bottle into the bowl, the foam has shaped into a crater in the middle. It stays there for a looong time; I haven’t even seen weissbiers act like this! Underneath, there’s a very good-looking hazy orange body. The nose is great and all about hops; both grassy and mellow-fruity tones are abundant. The taste is very dry, with a decent amount of floral hop bitterness roughly mid-palate. Some light malty sweetness balances it rather good, but this is still a little bit dry for me as I generally prefer blonde ales with a fair amount of sweetness. Some grain and basement yeast comes along in the aftertaste after 4-5 sips. A good Trappist ale for sure, although far from my favorite from the Cistercian brotherhoods.

A végén erősen kesernyés. Komplex és finom, de már ittam emlékezetesebb trappistát is.

Bottle. Pours golden-orange, slightly hazy with a substantial white head. Aroma is grassy, yeasty, with notes of honey and candied sugar, and touches of light malts, spices and herbal hops. Flavor is sweet, with lots of Belgian yeast defining the distinctly Trappist character. Fruity, with flashes of banana and pineapple. A touch of tartness enhances the light malt profile. Some perceivable alcohol gives body. Concludes with a dry, slightly bitter finish.
