A pale, strong, fruity, hoppy Trappist ale from one of Belgium’s six official abbey breweries. Achel 8° is hard to find even in Belgium; in the U.S. it’s up there with the rarest of beers. This blond, flavorful beer is a surprisingly refreshing brew at 8% alcohol by volume. It is lightly filtered, but still wholesomely hazy with yeast remaining and refermenting in the bottle.

best before 09/2014 bottle at home, golden beer with a large head, aroa is yeast, fruit, taste is the same, bitter bit boozy but quite good.

0,33 bottle purchased in FYROM at the Beerstore of Marjan and consumed in Kosovo. It pours dark golden colour, slightly hazy (the description says it is "lightly filtered") with a huge and tick off-white foam. At the nose peach, jasmine, sweet and bread notes. Some light caramel. Mouth has a medium carbonation, round sweetness, malts. A great beer...it could have been better (I expected another complexity in the mouth).

Bottle. Golden color with frothy lasting foam. Aroma: fresh, sour, butter, hint of dried apricots, grains, hint of pine. Nice. Taste is relatively sweet: although a sour taste permeates, almost white wine like, a sweet lacing always follows it. Bubblegum like even. Nonetheless, real nice.

- Unaromatisch bitteres, alkoholschweres Tripel. Will mir nicht so recht schmecken.

33 cl teku. Pours an abundant white and frothy head, typical blonde golden/colour, surprisingly almost/practically clear. Smells yeasty, fruity, bit floral form hops, cereals, estery; very belgian as you could imagine. Tastes fruity, honey, bread, bit more green/grassy towards the finish. Both bitter and sweetness are holding at the same level, tasty yeasty and grassy finish. High carbonation, nice texture and body. Nothing really special, but very refined and balanced, appreciated the smoothness and drinkability (doesn’t feel 8%vol). Solid belgian tripel/ strong golden ale

Bottle of 33cl Good Trappist beer, but not the best one. Very fast taste, but nice palate and colour and great appearance (cloudy and very sparklin’ maybe too much for a trappist) ! Try it !

Poured from 33 cl bottle. Nice, thick head. Some lacing. Golden colour with some haziness. Mild fruity aroma with a hint of citrus. Taste is fruity and floral with slight bitterness and citrus notes in the end. Despite the 8 ABV alcohol cannot be discerned. Medium body with average carbonation. Overall, not the best of the trappist beers, but an excellent beer neverthless that leaves me wanting for more.

Great beer. Typical Belgian Trappist but so well balanced. Very easy drinking, nice smooth floral, spicy and no real hint that it’s 8% abv. Could happily session this.

Una perfetta trappista. Colore perfetto e schiuma persistente.
