3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Prokroustis (361) - Thessaloniki, GREECE - AUG 7, 2011
Clear fizzy golden body with a huge white head. Spicy malty aroma with cereal, caramel and fruits. Very nice fully carbonated palate. A great dry spicy and sweet taste
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 magsv (3) - Quezon City, PHILIPPINES - JUL 29, 2011 does not count
Got a bottle from Gilmore Wines and Spirits with a Feb 2012 expiry date. nicely stored in the ref. Appearance: Translucent, orange ,brown with thick tan head. Smell: molasses syrup, candied sugar and honey. Taste: Sweet Toffee, fig, biscuit, caramel and a bit sour like German wheat beer. Mouthfeel: Rich, medium-bodied, smooth and well-carbonated. Drinkability: Good beer. More affordable compared to the other Trappist beers. Very good beer to pair with Cajun food.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Psytron (503) - Turku, FINLAND - JUL 21, 2011
A good trappist, but completely nonsurprising. There are better ones available.
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Jabic (140) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 19, 2011
Ar: rosy alcohol with peppery spice, plus orange peel and ripe peaches.
Ap: Cloudy gold with a billowing white head with great retention that leaves a wall of lacing - streaming cascades of small bubbles run up the glass.
T: Tart orange with a clean maltiness and ripe melons, slight peachy note - some moderate rosy alcohol mixes with citrus mid-palate - peppery finish with a medium bitterness.
P: Full creamy high carbonation - fills the palate and finishes extremely dry and tingly.
O: Disclaimer: This is one of my top 5 Belgian beers - I could drink this beer every day, and I very will might do so if I had the access and the $ - it has the complexity, in terms of ester, spice, and alcohol profile, of the best triples - yet, at the same time, it is exceptionally (and dangerously) quaffable and dry in the spirit of great saisons.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 wimpie133 (380) - Brugge, BELGIUM - JUL 18, 2011
Bottle, 33 cl. Blonde hazy beer with big white foamy head. Aroma of hops, fruits and some malts. Taste is malty and light sweet at first, with a fruity background and some spicy notes, and becomes more hoppy further on and ends with a light bitter dry finish. Very nice and well balanced beer, the least known Trappist, but certainly worth to discover it!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dnoaksson (382) - , SWEDEN - JUL 10, 2011
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 nike (500) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 9, 2011
Hazy orange color, pleasant aroma. Sweet hoppy beginning, medium to light middle taste, and slight sour/bitter finish. Well balanced, good CO2 mix, the 8% abv is not in your face. Hides the alcohol well, good smooth brew.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Koelschtrinker (6544) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUL 4, 2011
