A pale, strong, fruity, hoppy Trappist ale from one of Belgium’s six official abbey breweries. Achel 8° is hard to find even in Belgium; in the U.S. it’s up there with the rarest of beers. This blond, flavorful beer is a surprisingly refreshing brew at 8% alcohol by volume. It is lightly filtered, but still wholesomely hazy with yeast remaining and refermenting in the bottle.

Goede balans. Zacht in de mond.

Nice round triple. However rare it it is supposed to be, that doesn’t make it special. It is good, especially the aftertaste, but it lacks identity on the taste.

Huge frothy white head very long lasting that evolves to rocky aspect. Hazy golden colour. Aroma is yeast, ripe fruit (raisin, fig) and banana. Taste is crispy, fruity, some spicy (clove) with caramel hints and some alcohol warmth. Crispy palate with high carbonation.

Kaatuu omaan trappistilasiinsa kirkkaan kullankeltaisena.

I was kind of suprised by the description on ratebeer, considering the fact I bought this beer in a random little supermarket somewhere in Belgium. not much to say about it though. an average strong blond from belgium. It is nice to drink, but it is not a top blond trappist.

Wypite dwa tygodnie po dacie waznosci. Piwo klarowne w kolorze jasny pomaranczowy z obfita biala drobnopecherzykowa piana. W aromacie typowe belgijskie zapachy z drozdzy, brzoskwinie i slody. W smaku dojrzale owoce, przyprawy i mandarynki. Srednie wysycenie i niska ziolowa goryczka. Jakos mi nie podeszlo w tym wydaniu.

Bottle, 330 ml from Svijet Piva. Shared with Miro and Kova. Pours golden, white head. Perfumy, malty, spicy, yeast, fruit. Sweet. Finishes dry with some bitterness. Medium bodied. Can’t say I’m a fan of perfumy sweetish beers.

Bottle, 15/07/16. Pours a dark yellow with a good, white head. Aroma is very paechy, some yeast, apricot, quite grainy, pale malts. Taste is peach, dried fruit, yeast. Slight pale malt. You can feel the alcohol, but it’s hidden in the taste. Ethanol dries up the finish.
