hopscotch (7522) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 15, 2004
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2004 Very hazy, yellow ale with a large, fizzy, white head. Good retention. Great lacing. There's a lot going on in the aroma and flavor. Tons of spice, banana, zest of orange, etc. Full-bodied with a fizzy mouthfeel. Lengthy, crisp, dry finish. Complex brew... to say the least! Thanks to bierkonig for the bottle.

Golden colour. A disappointing head, that dies immediately. Aroma is yeasty and have some citrus and other fruit notes. Flavour is a bit more light and not as complex as the other 2 trappist-beers, i’ve tried.

MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - APR 9, 2007
(bottle, with thanks to bierkoning!) Cloudy orange colour with a huge, slightly off-white foamy head. Dusty, sweet pale malty aroma with a rounded, aromatic fruitiness (lemon, peach) and subtle coriander spice. Sweet flavour but not superficial, medium to full bodied with a lively carbonation. Solid malty base with yeasty and fruity notes upfront, growing spices towards the finish, which is fruity, malty, sweet-bitter and slightly hoppy. Very well-rounded brew.

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2004 blond-orange colour with a fine creamy head, nice lace, complex aroma (orange, peach, yeast and bread), smooth, full-bodied with a strong bitterness, long dry bitter, fruity and bready finish - robust and very well-made

Bottle from Dilly Deli. Poured hazy orange color with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma was complex sweet yeasty and citrus. Medium sticky body with soft carbonation. Medium sweet yeasty flavor with medium sweet with small alcohol bite finish. Good sweet complex brew.

pivnizub (7225) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JAN 28, 2006
Bottle: Hazy, orangey coloured; huge rocky, creamy head; strong fruity nose (lemon, bananas, cloves); slightly sweetish, moderate fruity flavour, a bit yeasty; a bit tart, fruity sweetish finish with the acidity and the flavour of green apples. A well rounded and warming brew.........................

A Mes rate: Bottle from Lowlander. Excellent looks. Cloudy light amber with a superb white head. Spicy Belgian blonde elsewhere let down for me by some ice tea notes sadly. Very sweet, a little too much to be honest. Almost tart and very yeasty. Just sickly sweet. Too much for me. Prickly in the palate. Possibly my least favourite trappist.

chriso (7063) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 7, 2004
Fluffy head, which soon dissipates. Cloudy golden colour. Quite a lot of bitty sediment. Exceptionally perfumed estery aroma. Mango, orange & honey. In the mouth, this is underscored by peppery hop presence. Very nice so far, but falls away a bit on the finish for me; it is bittersweet, but the aftertaste descends into sugar. Overall, though, very flavoursome and pretty good. It just needs a little more refinement to lift it into the very top rank. Bottle.

hopdog (7037) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 17, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 15, 2004 Poured hazy yellow, averaged size head, and lots of big yeasty floating chunks. Fruity, yeasty, citris, spice and floral aromas. Sweet beginning taste with a well balanced slightly bitter aftertaste. Also tastes of spices, bananas. A very good beer and easy to drink. Even though it was on the expensive side, I’m glad I bought a case.

Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUL 4, 2011
Test vom 3.9.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,14,13,13,10,14 - 13,40
