COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A pale, strong, fruity, hoppy Trappist ale from one of Belgium’s six official abbey breweries. Achel 8° is hard to find even in Belgium; in the U.S. it’s up there with the rarest of beers. This blond, flavorful beer is a surprisingly refreshing brew at 8% alcohol by volume. It is lightly filtered, but still wholesomely hazy with yeast remaining and refermenting in the bottle.

Very moreish. Couldn’t believe the amount of initial head but that didn’t stop me getting through it. Wife loved it equally.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Hazy golden body with a thick white head. Lively carbonation. Lots of lacing. Aroma of salted lime, white bread, flower petals, caramel and lemon. Flavour of coriander, pear, lemon sorbet and white sugar. Barely a hint of the ABV. Medium body with a frothy texture. An amazing beer, incredibly easy drinking for the strength.

Tastes like the Westmalle (origine) but softer, rounder, more balanced (if i remember westmalle correctly). Floral smelling hops, then a yeasty, peppery taste.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Poured into a Duvel glass. Slightly hazy golden color with a nice big soapy off-white head. Aromas of apple, pear, yeast and apricot with some floral hops. Average to lively carbonation with a creamy mouthfeel. Sweet on the palate with some pepper and spice present. Almost has rum cake like flavor after it warms up. Complex with lots of fruit and spice flavors that are quite well balanced. Nice fruity finish. Hides the ABV very well.

Bottle. Yeasty notes on the nose, with hints of banana, clove, fruity, citrus. Some bready malts. Cloudy golden, with big nice white head. Also yeasty on the palate, with honeylike tones of fruity malt. No hops, but nice and dry. Medium/high carbonation, still silky and nice mouthfeel. A very nice Belgian Blonde!

Translucent cloudy gold with a frothy white head. Potent yeast, malt, banana, bubblegum, spice, and tart citrus fragrance. Full bodied. Yeasty bliss as expected. Banana, bubblegum, cloves, mild hops, robust carbonation, and of course yeast. Delectable.
