COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A pale, strong, fruity, hoppy Trappist ale from one of Belgium’s six official abbey breweries. Achel 8° is hard to find even in Belgium; in the U.S. it’s up there with the rarest of beers. This blond, flavorful beer is a surprisingly refreshing brew at 8% alcohol by volume. It is lightly filtered, but still wholesomely hazy with yeast remaining and refermenting in the bottle.

Pours with a pleasant orange color and a VERY marshmallowy head. It is slightly spicy and very nice in the mouth. Slightly spicy and a bit fruity. bananas? maybe a hint of citrus. The alcohol is there but balanced well. The finish is dryish and crisp. A very nice beer and I would recommend to anyone.

Bottle, 15/07/16. Pours a dark yellow with a good, white head. Aroma is very paechy, some yeast, apricot, quite grainy, pale malts. Taste is peach, dried fruit, yeast. Slight pale malt. You can feel the alcohol, but it’s hidden in the taste. Ethanol dries up the finish.

Orange color. Fruit, yeast and sugar aromas. Taste of fruits, yeast, slight alcohol and some hops and spices, leading to a balanced, bitter finish.

33cl bottle. Semi-hazy pale orange with a thin white head. Notes of Belgian yeast, white bread, copper and overripe fruit. Medium body, medium carbonation and a bitter-sweet aftertaste.

Bottle from Table and Vine. Poured into a goblet. A murky golden orange color with a very frothy off white head that settles to a thick creamy lace. This drinks like a standard tripel, but with a lot more complexity. Dry fruity yeast aromas and flavor. Lots of spicy hop bitterness. Light honey sweetness. Long dry finish.

Doskonały aromat – owoce o białym miąższu (gł. dojrzałe jabłko), pieprz, mandarynka i liście kaffiru (!), trochę Brettów.

0.33 bottle.
A hazy, dark copper color and a large, thin, white head. Aroma is sweet, spicy, malty, yeasty, but also a bit tacky. Taste is sweet, malty and spicy as well as mediocre. A medium body, a creamy texture, and a soft to average carbonation. Finish is relatively long, not particularly awesome. Overall the beer is alright, somehow not my cup of tea.

Bottle into a tulip. Pours a cloudy medium amber, with a moderate white head that lasts.Good lacing. Nose is fruit and yeast. Taste is fruit up front, with some hop bitterness towards the medium length finish. Quite nice.

Aroma:
Slight/medium aroma of malts, Belgian yeast, orange and spices.

Appearance:
Hazy golden beer with a medium white head.

Taste/Palate:
Medium sweet with malts, Belgian yeast, orange and spices.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense and balanced, but lacks depth and complexity. Just an average Belgian Strong Ale, but that still means it is pretty damn tasteful.
