I’m right on the curve on this one, I guess; you’d have to call it a disappointment for a trappist, but its a top-quality beer overall. Wonderful clear shiny spun-gold color with a huge head (not quite Orval though). Yeasty, lambic-like barnyard aroma gradually sweetens and mellows as it warms, as does the dry champagne-esque flavor. Drink close to room temp; I may be underrating this, ’cuz it doesn’t seem that distinctive, but I’ve had a lot of GREAT beer in the last few days also. Will definitely try again.

Nice golden colour with a half short head. Nice aroma of cramell and barnyards. The flavour is also much sweet of caramell. There is also fruit and spices. Though not nearly as good as the Westvleetern brews it still is a good belgian brew.

Appearance: golden color. Big head with white color, airy and some lasting. Aroma: spicy hoppy with herbal notes like grass and coriander reminiscences. Citric smells like lemon, pineapples, melon and green apples. Also, the yeast, the banana and bubble-gum. Some slight mints and floral aromas. Flavor: sweet and ephemeral malty. Fruitiness like oranges and pineapple in syrup, tangerines and papaya marmalade. Floral notes like tea and chamomile; spiciness of aniseed and coriander. The banana and bubble-gum. Light dry-hoppy and enough herbal with grapefruits notes, some astringent and, maybe, menthol hints. Palate: medium body and medium to high carbonation. Remark: notably blond, fruity and spicy, with character and balanced sweetness.

Pours a cloudy burnt yellow with a finger sized foamy head that left lacing down the sides of the glass. Smell is yeasty, with nothing else really sticking out. Taste is decent, with warming alcohol that isn’t hidden all that well with a finish that is somehow sweet and medicinal at the same time.

Aroma is a yeast scent with fruit tones. Color is a pale gold with just a slight haze. Carbonation is very active creating a tall head that is loose on the bottom and very tight on top. Taste is light and fizzy. Starting with a lighter medium body that goes down with a foamy feel. Finish comes in with a light gain flavor and fruity yeast taste, then a bold bitterness. After taste is more bitterness. This is not one of the better Trappist but its is a tasty brew

Bottle from State Line Liquours in Maryland. Pours with a strong, off white head that sticks around and lots of carbonation. Decent lacing. Color is a dark gold, arom a has citrus hops and hints of alcohol.
