Bottle. Very nice head. Aroma is a bit weak, fruity. Nice taste, but could be a bit better pronounced, too. Fruity and spicy, hint of alcohol. Beautifully smooth palate. Good beer, but there are a few better trappists.

(Rating #4121)

Murky brown color with a thick lacing off-white head. Sweet caramel bready Belgian malt and yeast aroma. Sweet toffee, honey and mild chocolate notes are evident with light fruit complexity and a hint of yeasty spice toward the end. Finishes dry, somewhat sticky and warming. A nice trappist ale.

Nocturne (35) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - FEB 4, 2012
330ml bottle. Mid brown colour with plenty of head. Subdued aroma with hints of Christmas pudding. Mouthfeel is very nice, with a profile that suggests both a dubbel and a quad, but it doesn’t stand out as much as the top examples in those fields. Still, an enjoyable drink.

Cloudy copper pour with a foamy off-white head, good lacing. Very aromatic with heaps of dark fruit, red grapes, spice, citrus, floral bouquet, grass and malt. Quite tangy from the frut on the palate and slightly dry and hints of caramel. Rather full bodied. There is a liquor-like background heat that warms the cockles. The spice is subtle but present. Great stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A really good drink. Smells like your standard good belgian strong ale with caremelized malts. Taste has more malt with a deeper tone of earthiness that gives a complex body. A full body with a slightly bitter finish. A bottle at Castro’s
