Voluminöser Antrunk, schokoladig-malzig, deutlich herb, etwas fruchtig. Test vom 8.12.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 15,12,12,11,8,12 - 11,95

11.2 oz. bottle- Poured very gently with a nice (for a trappist glass!) 2 finger head that never quite recedes, but leaves a nice ice cream rocky head, the color is dark red but ruby red when held up to some light. Aroma is some Belgian yeast, but quite subdued, banana also shows itself. The taste is brown sugar and Belgian yeast, and also wheat, very bubbly. The body is medium, carbonation is very high. Not the best, or even close, but good.

Huge head from pour, took long time to dissipate. Solid aromas of sweet malts, some toffee, maybe raisins. Very lively carbonation. I found it got in the way of the aromas and taste as it was hard to get past the bubbles.

Bottled. Hazy nut brown colour with reddish hints, beige foamy head. Nice sweet aroma with notes of nuts, spices and dried fruit. Sweet flavour with notes of dried fruit, nuts and a bit alcohol. Well balanced bitterness.

Poured a amber brown, hazy. Aroma belgium sugars, raisons, grapes, apple, brown sugars, oranges, cherry. Taste is med sweetness, and finishes drier. Very complex. Frothy/creamy texture, generous on the carbonation. Medium body. Yum, I am liking this.

Pours a hazy brown. Aroma of concord grape. Tatste is sweet roasted malt mixed intensely with super sweet grape juice. Not a lot of hop character. Very complex. At the very end a touch of maple comes through and offset by the semi tartness of grapes.

Bottle thanks to weihenweizen, pours a murky brown with a thin off white head and some spotty lacing, aroma is sweet with hints of caramel and some raisin, the flavor has a nice backing of roasted malts with a sweetness in the finish, the mouthfeel is very nice, interesting brew, really enjoyed this one.
