Gigantic rocky tan head that lasts forever and leaves glops of foamy lacing all over the side of the glass. Nose of grape, raisins, apple, and maybe even a hint of cinnamon. Taste is fruity with a mocha like bitter sweetness. Alcohol is noticeable but not overpowering. Finish is bitter/sweet like coffee with sugar. Lubiere (4556), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2009 A hazy dark brown ale with a thick receding light moka head. A pleasant aroma of sweet dark fruits and raisins. In mouth, a sweet candy sugar with light orange peels, cherry, apples, light brown sugar. Some warming alcohol in finale. Sweetness comes out much better with an old cheddar. A classic. BB 12-2004. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Bottle shared at tasting. Thanks! Pours a rich muddy, reddish color with a light beige head. Smell is lightly funky, tart and some cherry notes. Taste is fruity, more raisiny and sweet fruity than tart cherry, and a bit dull. Some light alcohol. Thinnish body and light carbonation. Average or below, to me. redlight (1509), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 30, 2008 Sweet malts, caramelized sugar, figs, hints of vanilla in the nose. Pours a rich brown color with a huge white head. Very smooth, sweet malts, brown sugar, caramel, vanilla, spicy hops with some spicy yeast notes, clove. There are hints of chocolate that come out as it warms. Excellent beer, nice complexity but still very drinkable. BeerFanDan17 (628), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 27, 2008 Az eltévedt bárány, a hatodik belga trappista kolostor, Achel egyik söre, barna, 8% alkoholtartalommal. A holland-belga határon levő kolstorban egészen a II. világháborúig főzték a sört, amikor a sörfőzés kifinomult művészete iránt kevésbé fogékony németek szétlőtték a kolostor sörfőzdéjét. Nem is indult újra a termelés egészen a 90-es évek elejéig, amikor más belga kolostorokból érkeztek sörfőző apátok, kisegíteni a testvéreket.
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Bottled. Dark reddish brown color with a nice beige head and persistent. Aroma quite weak, some notes of roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is quite complex, notes of burned sugar, toffee, chocolate and coffee, medium carbonation, better than blonde one, but I could feel a little bit of alcohol. Mouthfeel is amazing, like bitter chocolate and toffee. hombrepalo (789), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 17, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark, murky, reddish brown with an averaged sized tan head. Initially, lots of carbonation bubbles on the side of the glass. Aromas and tastes of spices, caramel, yeast, toffee and some plums. Starts off lightly sweet and ends on a nice, dry finish. Taste was average, nothing special here. The other trappist are better.
