Bottle from „Csakajósör”, Bp. Cloudy reddish brown with an imposant and stabile, off-white foam. Sharp and syrupy mouthfeeled brew with a complex, dry kinded aroma with caramel, fruity yeast, citrus, herbals and some resin. The sweet, dried fruity flavour is rounded by a peppery/spicy taste. The long and warming end is escorted by citrus, herbals and alcohol, which leaves a sweet-spicy aftertaste behind. A tasty and complec belgian ale.

Clear dark red, big white head. Very fruity aroma, plum and apple notably. Full body, complex malty sweet flavour, great.

The beer pours dark brown with ruby red highlights. The head is tope rising about 2 fingers. It loses one finger quickly but keeps the other a long time falling pillowly leaving a soapy cover for over 15 minutees. The lacing is great. The aroma is really nice and balanced. It starts off really malty with toffee, dark fruits and a bready yeast finish. The taste is really nice and complex, I almost like this more than Westy 8. It starts off very sweet, has a nice bitter middle then a great yeasty finish. Overall, a very excellent dubbel.

Bottle 33 cl. Poured brown in colour with huge fluffy tan head, which dissolves at medium rate and leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Raisins, plums and malty aromas. Lots of dark slightly burnt sugar too. Flavour dark fruits, syrup and something that reminds of sweet and sour dark bread. Sweet and pleasant aftertaste.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a nice purple-brown color with a good off white head. Nice lacing spots. Nose brings dark sugars with a tiny amount of roast as well as spice and a bit of booze. The taste is raisins, dates, other dark fruits as well as caramelized sugar, some booze, and caramel. Nice medium mouthfeel with low-ish carbonation. Drinks quite well. Good, not great, beer. UPDATED: MAR 15, 2011 bottle@Pater’s Vaetje: looked chestnut brown and had a fluffy head, very creamy, tasted of , thick malts, brown sugar, caramel, dark spices with a bitter ending, bit straightforward but extremely well-done beer, underrated

Hazy orange browns; medium khaki head. Delightful aroma, grape juice, raisins. Creamy texture. Flavor - red grapes and cranberries. The piquant little kick of alcohol comes off as a light tartness.

2009 Bottle, March 2011.

I’m quite surprised to find that I’ve never rated this before. Red-brown pour, ample carbonation that settles down nicely after a few minutes. Fascinating nose: baked apple and lemon, mulling spice, also a musty complexity I’m not accustomed to. Sweet spiced caramel foam, classic bruin flavors with the cola notes backgrounded, maraschino cherry juice, a touch of spice-driven bitterness late. I’m not usually a big fan of the style, but this one could make me into a convert.
